1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: problem with knitty's 'winecozy' pattern? help!! on: July 20, 2007 11:15:36 AM
i think that what i'm doing wrong is that my yarn overs are not fullyarn overs, just putting the yarn on the other side. i need to wrap them around i think.

oops. i'll try it again. thanks for the advice!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / problem with knitty's 'winecozy' pattern? help!! on: July 20, 2007 10:52:44 AM
i'm making knitty's http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTwinecozy.html winecozy pattern and i'm stuck.

i knit 1.5 inches of 3x3 ribbing (42 stitches at this point).
then i did one row of K2, [YO, p2tog tbl, p2, YO, k2tog] to last 4 sts, YO, p2tog tbl, p2. like the pattern says. i now have 29 stitches. i did this row once, then frogged it then did it again with the same results and i'm pretty sure i'm doing it right.

next it says to knit 3x3 rib for another 1.5 inches. but 29 is not divisible by 3, so how do i do 3x3 ribbing? is there a problem with the pattern? is there some errata somewhere that i don't know about?

i hope someone can help!
3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knitty's Danica on: February 16, 2007 08:37:06 AM
these are all so awesome! my bf's mother gifted me three skeins of some very pretty variegated yarn, and I already started Danica but she's at home so I'll have to wait to post progress.

I too hate picking up stitches, but I think the pattern lends itself to not having to have 'perfect' stitches in between the squares/triangles. especially after blocking.

fantastic!
i'm curious about the liquid nails, how sturdy is it? is it movable with just the liquid nails? i bet you could put a few discreet nails in certain sections to make it more sturdy.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine's 2007 on: January 30, 2007 12:28:07 PM
if i can get it together in time, i am going to go around town and take pictures of some of the letters off of signs of places (restaurants, bars, movie theaters, etc etc) we have been together that are special and then make a card with a message spelled out by the photographed letters. he can guess what each one is.

i don't have alot of money, and we've both been kind of down lately over a bunch of stuff, so i wanted to do something creative and that had a *spark*....he's romantic so i think he'll like it.

i may also embroider an anatomical heart onto something for him, as he's a med student. but we live together so it is hard to do so many crafty things for him unless i start early and can plan out when we won't be home together.

Those look great! I'm almost done with one glitten from that pattern, and I was wondering if you can explain how you reverse the pattern to make the right hand one like the directions say? I don't understand what that means at all.
