4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / my painted tent! on: October 07, 2007 12:42:49 PM
So for christmas 06 my parents bought me a paint-your-own tent that looked kind of like this;

Except that he bit on the top was grey when i started.

Anyway this is how it ended up (sorry the pics aren't great but it was too wet to put it up outside!)

it's supposed to look like a little rose covered cottage, with a thatched roof and a little tiled roof over the front door.
It's had a couple of outings to festivals, (it's fun to listen to peoples comments when they don't know you're inside) but i think it needs something more before i take it out next summer. Any idea's?
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Let's NOT do the ipod shuffle! on: April 13, 2007 02:52:26 PM
Ok just so we're clear this is not about swapping CD's or music!

However, when talking about CD swaps here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=159361.0
there was a suggestion that maybe we could craft based on other peoples random playlists of songs.

Since most bands now have websites or myspace pages that have samples of the music, there would still be an opportunity to find awesome new music and artists with out breaking any craftster rules/ international laws/ moral codes etc!

I'm not sure if anything similar has already been done...?

Anybody interested?
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My new zippy/skully tote bag on: April 09, 2007 02:18:02 PM
This is my new bag...

And i used different fabric for the top and bottom of the bag

the zip in the top part reaches right round to the other side and is also a pocket. - it goes deeper than that seam and sits between the lining and the main bag.

(should have used a more coordinated colour)

The whole thing is lined with the skull fabric (it was super cheap!)

So what do you think? I may make some more for friends in different fabrics.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / painted t shirt - blossoms (WARNING - back story!) on: February 23, 2007 11:43:48 AM
I think i might be putting this in the wrong place...

also this is a tad long winded
Anyway,

There is a tree outside my bedroom window which gets covered in blossoms every spring and looks lovely
this is it

And i've been meaning to craft something inspired by it for ages, since i see it everyday and all!

Sooo,
this is the spring blossom shirt I just painted

Detail

I used standard acrylics mixed with a little Dylon image maker to make to toughen it up a bit!

I think it needs something ... more? but I don't know what.

This is my first attempt at painting clothing so comments/critique welcome!
