1  Re: Promalong - Making your own Prom dress? Join the club! in Clothing Sewalongs by AllieKat3120 on: March 22, 2006 07:51:25 PM
for my junior prom 2 years ago i used this popular McCalls pattern to make my dress:

i wanted to do it in lime green with bright blue tulle (how awesome would that have looked?!)... buuut my mom was really fond of the orange and pink, annnnd i was really low on fundings at the time so she helped me pay for the fabric since she liked it: so here are my blurry pics:

i know... it looks just like the pattern cover. not very original Sad

it took me a weekend to do. it's a fairly easy pattern. im sure a lot of you have seen it in the McCalls pattern book... my first time trying a zipper though and the last... but it all turned out well... looking back now i wish i didnt put the silly straps on though

2  Re: Self Portraits! I'll start.... then let's see yours! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by AllieKat3120 on: February 08, 2006 02:16:46 PM

hoped it worked... one day i will get around to doing a really nice one of me, a more expressional one like both of yours... not like this one that happened on a random school day when the teacher announces "okay line up and let me take your picture for your self portrait!"... the one day i decided to roll out of bed and pull on a sweatshirt. but i got props for blowing the bubble... everyone else had just smilied

3  Starry Night... on my window in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by AllieKat3120 on: January 12, 2006 03:42:55 PM
well this is my first post... and my first time on this board... usually i stalk the clothing board cause i love to sew, but this board blows me away... everyone is so talented!

so me and my boyfriend went on an amzing date to the crayola factory in easton today. tons of fun, so much crafty stuff to do. the crayola store was so much fun too, i wanted to buy everything, everykind of art supplies imaginable! i felt like such a kid it was incredible. so i bought these awesome window markers. my friend's mom introduced me to them like a year ago and ive been searching for them ever since and finally found them. so much fun. i decided to draw on my  bedroom windows. so here's my overly simplified version of Starry Night. Not too great and I plan to redo the town part cause i rushed it.

and these are the markers i used... i was kinda limited to my colors

hope you liked!
