1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Cheese bread? How to needed! on: December 10, 2007 08:16:59 PM
Is this a cheese spread for bread or is the cheese baked in?  If it's a spread, is it possible you are looking for pimiento cheese?

Thanks for the kind words!

I have a bunch of a relatively heavy white cotton/poly twill.  It seems to work relatively well, and the poly means it doesn't keep shrinking.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / silly little crochet bag from crochet-a-day calendar on: November 15, 2007 08:26:50 PM
My friend got me one of those pattern-a-day calendars a while ago, and I've been making strange items from it to send to her in the mail.  The latest is a small bag with an extra long shoulder strap.  I decided to leave off the button closure and used a magnetic snap instead.  The lining is some skull fabric I bought as a fat quarter ages ago.

the inside:

It's not really just big enough for carrying some small items for an evening out on the town.

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Favourite BBQ Sauce? on: August 19, 2007 08:39:03 PM
Here's mine.  It's pretty easy.

3 cups ketchup
1/3 cup molasses
2 T worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1/8 tsp. allspice
2 T. garlic powder
2 T. tabasco
1 T cayenne
1 tsp. liquid smoke
1 T. dry mustard
1 cup water, divided
1 onion

Puree onion and 1/2 cup water in food processor. Strain and discard solids, reserve liquid. Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan. Simmer until desired thickness.  I tend to go about 30 minutes.

Oh good, I'm glad you like them!

The pendant is a faux technique using shrinky dinks and diamond glaze (http://diamondglaze.com/) recommended by my local craft supply. I almost didn't include it since I'm still a tad skeptical, but it seems that it's relatively sturdy. Near as I can tell, it might not hold up to a trip through the rinse cycle, but otherwise it should be good.  In the end I decided you could reuse the pendant if the adhesive wore over time.  Smiley

I'm so close to making myself a wildcats tee...

Everyone's stuff is so cool!  Can you say glow-in-the-dark eclipse? Mohinder on a Tee? Magnetic poetry?  Oh, and that checklist? I am so impressed with what everyone has come up with so far!
