1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / super cute kitchen curtains on: March 22, 2008 11:02:28 AM
i have been a craftster member for over 2 years and i am finally posting something!

ever since my divorce, i have been waiting for the day that i could have my own place again where i could decorate with nothing but things i have made and things that i love.  i have been living with roommates and other people for the past 4 years looking at their stuff.  FINALLY, i have my own place again!!

i just completed my first home project the other day...kitchen curtains!

i have a very small brown and white kitchen that desperately needed some nice bright colors.  the only other color besides brown in there is a couple of turquoise chairs and a red rug.  so i had this cute fabric that ties in the chairs and the rug real nice and decided that it needed to be made into curtains.

it was a very simple project that took me about 2 hours to make.  i made panels and they are within 1/8 inch of perfect, which whenever i am making something that involves 2 pieces of the same size...i find some way to screw it up but i done good this time! thankfully the previous tenant had left the hardware up from her cafe curtains so i already had the rod and some hooks to use with tie backs.  i just used white ribbon for tie backs for now but i am thinking about making some beaded tie backs or something later.

since i am not allowed to post pictures yet...here is a link to my curtains:

thanks for looking!
