1  CANADA / Ontario / wool felt in Toronto on: December 12, 2007 08:46:05 PM
Anyone know of a source for real wool felt downtown Toronto?  I only need a few small sheets so I'm trying to avoid ordering it online.

Thanks!

I saw this in a magazine, I think it was called Adorn.  It just seemed too adorable not to try out.

I did not make the change purse, it came from H&M (of course) but is so super cute!
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first sewing project - tweed appliqued pouch on: December 30, 2006 05:53:18 PM
Hello everyone.  This is my first ever sewing machine project!  I followed a tutorial that I found on someone's blog.  The skull is appliqued using steam'n'seam and I covered the buttons with the extra lining fabric using the coolest button covering kit that I found.  What do you think?

The sign ups close at the end of February and everyone will have just over 3 weeks to create their ponies.
Since My Little Ponies have gone back into production they are available very cheaply at any toy store/department (around $5).  They can also be found easily on ebay, though be warned that some of the original ones have become collectors items and can subsequently be a bit pricey!

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / My Little Pony Swap? on: February 13, 2006 10:59:42 AM
After seeing some of the amazing customized My Little Ponies from the Pony Projecthttp://nyartsmagazine.com/pages/nyam_document.php?nid=1279&did=3054 by famous designers and artists, I started thinking it would be fun to try customizing my own.

I sanded of the patch on a My Little Pony I had hanging around my office and replaced it with a skull and crossbones.

Since they are now mass-producing My Little Ponies again I though it would be worthwhile to see if there was any enthusiasm for a customized pony swap at craftster.

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Rory Calhoun Shrine on: February 06, 2006 08:19:35 PM
The outside isn't quite as adorned as I'd like it to be, but here's a shot of the inside, pretty much finished.  A tribute to everyone's favourite standing and walking actor!

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered Arm-Warmers on: January 16, 2006 06:46:21 PM
I know it's not terribly original but here is an armwarmer that I've embroidered with one of the Sublime Stitching desings.  It was a pain in the ass because I had to sew in and out the thumb hole and the material was stretchy but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out all the same!
