The art center where I had my last works displayed commissioned my aunt and I to make a cigarette butt holder and this is what we came up with. We delivered it today.
We didn't come up with a name for it - any ideas?? Let me know what you think.
I have no idea if this thing is going to work but I sure hope it does! It is 24"x30" and has four 2 foot bulbs and 1 red darkroom bulb. I could have used a yellow bug light instead of the red. The reason I put the red bulb in is because I had the space and thought it would work out well when I wanted to see in a light safe area. The four 2 foot bulbs should be unfiltered black light bulbs because they have the most uv light. I used grow light because I read they have almost as much uv, cost $12 less each, and I didn't have to order them. Wish me luck that it works!
I made this last week. The most expensive part are the $25 hinges. For the rest I just used stuff I already had. I haven't used it yet and when you look the screen is backward, but I just put it there to show how it works. Right now I am in the process of building an exposure table and some bigger screens. At some point I will be building a 4 color press. I'll post pics when I'm done.
My son(12) and I went to a music and art festival over the weekend and saw the Squirrel Nut Zippers. We wanted to make a shirt that he could wear. We used the method here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=156073.0 It was a fun show and afterward we hung out to see if we could get some signatures on his home made shirt and woo hoo we did. They all really liked the shirt and were happy to sign it.
