You did a great job!  I love when i get yarn at a bargin price!  Even if I dont have the cash, I feel like I cant let it sit there and someone else buy it.  Well, everyone agrees, we all NEED the pattern, not want mind you, we need it!  ^5 to you on the awesome job!!!

Breathtaking!  Your friend will love it!  You should be proud of yourself!  I love the way motifs look but everytime I start something withmotifs, i end up getting mad because the finish line is soooooo far away after you make all of them.

16  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Hooby lobby Yarn Patterns? on: August 25, 2007 11:53:17 AM
I noticed the same thing and thought maybe it was just a mishap.  I do adore the "I love this yarn", heck I love this yarn!!!!  Sorry bad joke.  I keep some on hand for last min things.  I made my grandmother a lapgan with some in cranberry, I needed it to be washable.  I have found it doesnt pill as much as the red heart.  As for the weight, I agree that the simply soft is NOT worsted, more like sport.  The ILTY, is, indeed, a bit heavier than worsted.
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: neutral baby blanket? on: August 25, 2007 11:47:57 AM
I just did a baby girl dress in baby blue and brown.  Maybe try using some ribbon in the edging. That way its boy blue but a little girl at the same time.  Or  try to find a non-gender specific teddy bear patch to sew in the middle of the blanket, find one that matches the blue in your yarn.    Either way I think you should be fine no matter what, besides a home made gift is ALWAYS better than a store bought one!  When it comes to baby blankets, as long as it is machine washable that is really all that matters.   Post a pic when you are done I would love to see it!

19  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Noro FBB on: August 23, 2007 04:22:55 PM
Owly-  Thanks!  i had to purchase 2 of the noro.  BUT then when i was almost done I realized i needed a bit more to finish up.  I only used about another 3-5 Yards.   I was a bit mad about that at first.  Thank the Gods, my friend is making this wicked cool blanket with many, many skeins of Noro.  She just so happened to have the same color and dye lot (we shop at the same LYS) so she let me have what I needed and i returned the rest.  You could use the rest for a little coin purse or maybe a cell phone cozy.  Unless you crochet a bit tighter than I do than maybe you would only need 2 skeins.
