I don't know if she is a girly-girl or not, but maybe she'd like a costumed princess party.  She could pick a princess to dress as, and her friends could come dressed as princesses (or princes).

I've knitted a lot of things before,  but not a sweater.  I've been eyeing this pattern for awhile now. This looks like it wouldn't be too hard, but have unique enough inspiration for me to complete it.  The only change I'd like to make is to make the bottom piece longer with more increases, so It's more of a tunic style than a short sweater.  I don't know if I'd make the tunic the same color as the top, so as to keep with the style of the yukata.
