2  Re: working on "under the hoodie"! in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by gerbera on: August 22, 2004 02:30:22 PM
finished! not overly thrilled with it.  edges curl under and had to re-block sleeves to get better length.  also think it's a bit too baggy so considering blocking again to stretch it down and in.

not sure if blocking is that effective.  Did soak it, might try and pin and spray.

3  Re: Salt Peanuts Knitalong (IK Spring 2004) in Knitalongs by gerbera on: August 22, 2004 02:27:49 PM
Finally finished!

I blocked it properly (well almost). never been that thorough before, pinning each piece out.
I didn't do well on the collar and it flops over a lot and doesn't stay back.  I am thinking I might need to tack it back.  Has anyone else had collar issues?

This is such a cute pattern and they all look so cool.  I am on the front (or back). not quite at the intarsia yet.  have had a few intarsia practices on wristbands and the like so hope it goes ok.

ipurlgurl my colours are almost the same as your's.  I am glad it looks so great, I was a bit scared of being so bright.   I got the Lana D'Oro from Webs and I meant not to start yet (as so many things on the go) but couldn't resist the lovely feel of it and had to start.

My pile of yummy yarn:

And progress up the back so far (nearly at red - orange stripes):

WOW! I love the colours of your bag strangelittlemama.

I had problems with my base, it doesn't seem strong enough.  I think I have to line the bag, but not got around to that.

7  Re: the takin' care of business scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by gerbera on: June 13, 2004 07:52:19 PM
I love your new name for the windy city scarf.  It's also very appropriate as it stays on your neck but out of the way.

I live in a windy city (Wellington, New Zealand) and it appealed because scarves are always getting whipped of my neck in the wind.  I have had heaps of compliments on this scarf and lots of 'please can you knit me one' which I am mostly ignoring.

finished it!  here it is blocking.  taking ages as so cold here so just not drying.

I had to rip out the sleeve caps and redo them as they were far too big.  I skipped the non-decrease rows in the end and they came out ok.  I hadn't realised how bad it was until I seamed it up so I was a bit upset but managed to pull myself together to rip it out rather than stuff it in the cupboard.

I knitted this a while back.  Finally got around to putting photo's up.  They don't actually use it much (except to launch attacks on each other it seems) but they went to sleep in it as I picked them up from elsewhere and they were too dopey to do anything but go back to sleep.
