my fiance and i went as the dia de los muertos bride and groom this year [which is actually kind of weirdly sweet, since we're getting married next year, right after halloween! hee hee].
the masks were cheap-o flimsy plastic masks that i plastered over, sanded & handpainted. the floral headdress was a foam visor worn backwards and on top of my head, covered in silk flowers. i also made the veil and his boutonniere.
the clothes, i admit, were not handmade--the dress, however, is a heavily altered goodwill dress that i scored 5 years ago, and i take credit for all the alterations. it used to have giant 80s sleeves, and no waist--i did a lot of shaping.
