51  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: How do you price items on etsy? on: September 19, 2009 06:38:18 PM
I would sell them individually so if someone couldn't afford to buy them all at once, they could start with one.  How many hours did each one take to make and what was the cost of materials?  What a great idea!
52  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: !~ advice me on this lingerie idea ~! on: September 19, 2009 06:25:49 PM
Its really cute.  It looks like the top is self lined.  Is the bottom self lined, or will it include panties?  What I like about it is that it looks sexy and comfortable.   It looks relatively quick to make.  Perhaps use color schemes that are "team" colors.
53  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Boy Killaz: Etsy Shop Critique? on: September 19, 2009 06:08:18 PM
I looked  at your Etsy Shop.  Your products are cute, however the name of your shop doesn't exactly sound philanthropic.  Some people might be a bit put off by Boy Killaz.

Perhaps your shop name and logo should reflect what you are trying to accomplish.  Your charities aren't the least bit related however if you were to give your proceeds to Stand Tall, perhaps a banner with a bright African Print background would be more appealing and more directly related to your cause.

If you want to focus on rescuing animals, perhaps have your banner more in line with that.

I love your first line, "Welcome to our online shop, a cleaner, more organized version of our dorm room :]".  This draws me in and I want to hear more about you.  Perhaps personalize the write up a bit more.

You will probably do well at a craft show because you are at an affordable price point.Offer gift wrapping at the fair and have plenty of publicity materials about your causes.

Good Luck!
54  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Another Pricing Question on: September 19, 2009 05:51:10 PM
It took you 30 hours to make it.  I would consider what you would think a reasonable hourly rate would be.  $10 per hour would mean a price of $300. ($15 per hour means $450)  Because your work is so tactile, the internet might not be the best price to sell it.

You need to display your work where people that can afford $300+ will see it.  Perhaps see if you can display it at a bed-and-breakfast, or a high end hotel.  Another alternative is an art gallery, however your work would be "competing" with more artwork.

You want your work to stand out.  BTW - its really beautifully made!
55  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Need help with costume on: September 19, 2009 04:45:47 PM
If you look at the line drawing for this pattern, http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V2978.htm?search=slip&page=1, it includes a slip pattern that would work quite well for you.  It looks like Milla's is two layers and you could make a simple skirt or shorts to wear underneath it.

57  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: How to use/hide these hideous things... on: September 16, 2009 10:41:19 AM
My first thought was to perhaps use them to secure a long piece of artwork or fabric.
58  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 49 Gallery on: September 15, 2009 09:58:09 AM
The owl matches my office walls perfectly.  (The yellow in the owl is the exact color!)  And the pockets are being used for all kinds of knick-knacks that had been cluttering my desk.

Thanks so much!!!

I received my first ever swap package and it was from Zombiecazz!!!!!!!  I'd had a hectic crazy day so when I opened my mailbox and saw the envelope, my day immediately improved 1000%.
I received three totally amazing gifts.

I don't know how to crochet and I've always lusted for a crochet necklace.  I got not one, but TWO beautiful necklaces.
The brown one will go with so many of my fall outfits and the pink/red one will look great with all my black outfits.

And, my office wall is going to look a lot sweeter.  I got this amazing wall art that I'm going to put across from my desk so I can look at it all day.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Zombiecazz!!
