3  Bubble Blanket stash buster in Crochet: Completed Projects by donnamaxx on: January 08, 2008 04:43:33 PM
Here is my latest stash buster. I made this blanket with double threads using alternating bubble stitch for one row , then trebles for the next. It is a great way to use up all those bits and pieces that you have.

here is a close up

4  Re: crocheting with plarn is HARD! in Crochet: Completed Projects by donnamaxx on: January 05, 2008 02:14:15 AM
I used the same method(to make the plarn) when I made my bag. I have found it helps to use a metal crochet hook as the plastic ones tend to "grab" the plarn as you pull it through. Even so ,you end up with sore hands and wrists after a long session of crochet with plarn. Here is a pic of my bag that I posted here previously.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments. I had to save bags for over a year to get enough different colors. I used a basic ripple stitch to crochet a rectangle the size i wanted then did two smaller rectangles for the side panels.
I found  that I had to use yarn to join the peices to make it strong enough , as I use it for a library bag, and books can get a bit heavy.
