1  Whats a good housewife? (4 pics) in CHALLENGE 12 ENTRIES by Joler79 on: June 03, 2006 11:53:54 PM
With out a stunning centrepiece for her Table?
Esp in those extra special times of need when you cant afford real fruit, and after all whats fruit with out a bit of sparkle?

items of choice - pasta, pom poms and pipe cleaners (sparkly ones!)
My basket -  made of woven macaroni with the half circles for decoration all spray painted gold. It has a cork bottom and the side supports - after much trial of different materials are skewers
Fruit - sequins pins Styrofoam shapes - with simple shaping (and a very sore thumb and numb bum) and pipe cleaners (apple orange and pear)
pom poms and pipecleaners and strawberry's with felt ( grapes, strawberry's, Cherry's)
and just pipe cleaners for the banana

easter grass (was to be original banana) was used to add some height to the fruit in the basket

Im adding mine now - but its not as fancy or as well done as the others - I combined it with learning to crochet - anyway my son loves it and thats the most important thing.

3  showing off second bag and Critique needed please in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Joler79 on: February 08, 2006 04:49:36 AM
Ive made my second ever handbag for my neice who is fairy crazy! and while showing off a few people have mentioned wanting one.
Do you think these are A nice enough for a gift and B nice enough to sell. I m adding a little zip purse to go with them. i sort of winged my way through it based of what i had learnt about making a simple lined envelope. Im nervous as this will be my first handmade gift since a lil girl. Im also only fairly new to sewing.

The dots in the handles are glitter and they are attached by ribbons, they are only fabric lined with no stiffner.

Side B
