thx for the comments. I gave it to a friend for her bday, and it took her a while to figure out what it was... but she liked it in the end. I'll definitely keep making them Smiley

umm...no pattern for any of these (i wish i could...) but all you do for the ricebowl is crochet 2 half circles, one white and one bowl color; glue cardboard circle inside bowl bottom and stuff rice top w/ filling. sew together and stab thru some old chopsticks Smiley

In Ukraine, similar-looking things are badges that students get at highschool graduation...
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Sea Jellies! on: May 11, 2007 10:34:03 PM
thanks guys...

i freestyled this pattern, but I basically made the top of the head and then the bottom, which is a circle, separately. I made four tentacles by just double crocheting and the curled up on their own. pull the end string of each tentacle thru the bottom circle and tie it off. then, crochet together the top of the head with the bottom and tentacles and keep crocheting to make the fringe, addin a few more stitches every now and then.
 Confusing? hope it helps tho...
