6051  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / My Mosaic Summer on: November 05, 2005 01:29:42 PM
So...I had these dishes I bought when I went to uni in England, 12 years ago (!). They were getting a bit worse for wear but I still couldn't quite let go. So, I smashed 'em with a hammer! Grin. And now they can live on as furniture...

You could make little Christmas magnets, like the marble magnets using holiday themes. Or some type of easy handmade ornament?

Discoballs make me happy. They are some kind of icon of funk to me. Not to say that Hawaii is bad but I do think it's slightly less cool than funk. Thanks sbout my blog---I rarely wite in there, but I like to think that when I bother it might actually be worth checking out.

I think I feel a case of Boogie Fever coming on! *cough*
6055  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Imperfect dildos and butt plugs on: November 05, 2005 10:37:31 AM

I dab a bit of clay masque (Queen Helene Mint Julep is the most hardcore/cheap one I use but any CLAY mask seems to work. Look for clay or kaolin at the top of the ingredients) on the zit and leave it overnight. (like the toothpaste method) Usually dries them up in a day or so, maybe more for particularly icky ones. For prevention I'm a big fan of Philosophy "On a Clear Day" cream, it's very gentle! Also their "invisible makeup" seems to help control oil and add a protective layer to keep skin clear and oil free without drying.
Just my 2 cents (still fighting the occasional zit at 38...meh! Hoping the oil is preventing any incipient wrinklage!) Now if anyone has the puffy eye miracle I'd love to hear it! But I guess that's another thread, eh?
Puffily and zit-casionally yours,

But I just wanted to comment again to say that I keep coming back to look at this like every day when I'm on craftster.

Me too! But not in a creepy stalker way, I promise!   Wink
6059  UNITED STATES / Ohio / Re: Tell me about Ohio.... on: November 04, 2005 01:02:45 PM
Oh, and if you decide to move here, you HAVE to visit the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield. It's the prison they used in The Shawshank Redemption, and it's such a neat place to search around in.

That place scared the CRAP out of me as a kid! My Mom would always tell me a scary tale of her delinquent cousins who went there and "were never the same"! I bet they weren't! That place is creepy!!  *shivers*
Another cool history thing I remember is LOTS of houses had tunnels and secret rooms from the Underground Railroad days. pretty cool.

I grew up in Ohio...first Alliance and then Medina. I wasn't big on Medina then but I hear it's gotten pretty cool. Hmmm... there's a big difference between Northern and Southern Ohio. I like the Cleveland area although it tends to be hard-hit when the economy falters. The area up near Port Clinton and the islands is GORGEOUS. It's the classic midwest, the north is more industrial and the south is more agricultural. I was a mid 80's punk and have fond memories of going to shows and shopping in Cleveland. Hmmm...still visit but no plans to move back. The CAC in Cincinnati looks pretty cool. If you are looking at small towns I would definitely look at college towns for more culture, more stuff to do, more liberal mindset etc. Good luck!
