5901  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dog biscuit recipe needed on: December 07, 2005 01:54:21 PM
I know this thread is kinda old, but with the holiday season...I have an easy, un-fancy recipe that mixes meat flavored baby food with wheat germ and powdered milk into a dough/paste, then form into balls and bake. You can also make small balls for cats. My dog and his friends love them! I don't remember the exact amounts, but you sort of mix the three ingredients until it's a ball-rolling consistency and then bake until they are slightly browned. Very very easy! Different baby foods create sightly different colors (and also color your hands a bit!  Sad  ) They are nice to make a bunch and mix in with spiffy biscuits to make a nice doggie goodie basket.

I claim knottydottie for ponytail thingies! I have an idea!
This is my 2nd wish. I'm in the US

A Hat: I love this one http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=57584.0

Or a Chicken Viking hat  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=21342.0

Or a Panta http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=51351.0 Thanks Bloocanoe!!
             Or a Hallowig from Knitty (!) http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/PATThallowig.html

             Or a Pixie Hat http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=25996.0;topicseen

Or a soft black Kittyville hat with earflaps for super cold days (either knit or fleece is fine)
Or a baby Yoda hat for my nephew (who isn't quite born yet but I already want to spoil like mad!)
                                                  -  I have a pretty big head (and cold ears!)

A kimono fabric hobo bag like this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=56519.0 (I am in LOVE with the indigo/orange one!)

Or the necktie schoolbag (I love the burgundy/black/grey/paisley colored one but any colors will work) http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=45985.0;topicseen

Vintagey/kitschy embroidered or appliqued kitchen towels (fawns, mermaids, pinups, swallows, mexicana, cowgirls, pretty much anything from sublime stitching, my kitchen is green with accents in pink, orange, red, so anything will do!)

Decor items for my bedroom, which is pink and gold; something sexy, maybe 1920's, art nouveau, vintage nude, Japanese cherry blossom, something pretty and glam (Just for inspiration, I saw a gorgeous Louise Brooks embroidery on craftster http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=59537.0 ) or this Anthropologie frame: http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=8543&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=451&iMainCat=381

Some kind of cute  wall art for my bathroom, which is kind of a modern take on shabby chic, in light blue and white: a mermaid or nude, or shell type thing maybe?

Porn by numbers

That gorgeous Anthropologie vines scarf I keep seeing

Mexicana stuff

Something Bollywood inspired

A stuffed black squirrel, either needle felted, in the style of those felt monster/kitty type toys or amigurumi. I never saw a black squirrel till I moved here, but there's one on my street. His name is Jimmy. He refuses to be photographed. It would be extra funny if it was big enough to wear a catsized spiked collar, since Jimmy is a bit of a badass (and has recently taken to spelling his name Jimi) (I am way too involved with my local squirrel community!)

a knitted uterus (cause...why not...) (especially one that could contain a heatable bag of seeds & lavender for crampish times)

the infamous lipstick girl cozy http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=39172.0

monster slippers (size 8-9)

A cool microscope slide necklace (I'm learning to make these but haven't got it yet)

A bowl's worth of fruit/veggies  (felt, crochet or knit )

A vintagey rectangular tablecloth (pm me for dimensions) I love all the  ones on Anthropologie, or a cowgirl print, or anything fun, really. My DR is grey & mocha with red chairs so any colors will work. (there are also purple and aqua/turquoise things going on in there. And yellow. Hmm..like I said...any color!)

A lacy scarf or shawl (like the branching out one or anything in that style)

A knit or crochet ruffle scarf

Super warm mittens, felted or fleece lined, or felted and fleece lined, or sewn with nylon. I walk to work and I bundle up like a polar explorer but my hands are still cold! So, something wind proof and industrial strength!.
5905  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: no thank you's---wheres the love? on: December 07, 2005 08:27:22 AM
i think that the thanks are the most important.  i know that not everyone has a cam....and even those of us that do have cam problems some of the time...totally understandable to me.

Yeah, I think everyone gets that. I HAD a camera, but it's lost, so I do understand, totally.  But I think the public thanks is still important, and a brief description (ie "so and so sent me a gorgeous skirt, it's pink with purple polka dots, my favorite") is fine instead of a photo. But part of the fun of the swaps, to me anyway, is everyone's excitement and sharing of the swap goodies. It's so fun to see what others get too, like Christmas! So I do admit I feel a bit slighted if my items don't get to come out to play.  Maybe I seem like an attention-hound, but it's more like I want to participate fully by being able to respond to what I receive as well as getting a response from others, and to share both with the group. But a nice gushy PM is always appreciated too!  Grin

Zary, from what I've seen in your posts they are super lucky to get your crafts!! That's what I always think too "Oh no, they got it and are afraid to tell me they hate it!" But we're probably just over-sensitive. I hope!
5907  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Re: iron-on & pre-stretched canvas on: December 06, 2005 09:31:55 AM
This is genius! My Dad is a ventriloquist (really) and he's VERY hard to get gifts for, but he loves his puppets. I'm going to make a "pop art" of his puppets! Does anyone know a way to seal it that will look like "brush strokes" like those painting reproductions they sell in furniture stores etc? That would be fun!
