1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Flower baby sweater on: July 19, 2006 03:38:12 PM
My future sister-in-law asked me to make a baby sweater for her friend using deep pink and mocha, and she drew a mock up for me.  This is what I ended up with:

I based the sweater on a pattern in Knit Simple, with modifications, and I got the flower pattern from http://onmymind.blogdrive.com/archive/81.html. It was quick and easy.  I used cotton yarn for the sweater and Lion Suede for the flower.  Nothing to fabulous, but a nice break from the frustrating butterfly that I was hoping to have done by now.

**the color is a little off...darn my stupid camera!**
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / car sweater on: April 29, 2006 11:49:52 AM
As soon as warm weather hit, I finished this sweater for my nephew. Luckily, it's pretty big so he will be able to wear it this fall.  He's your typical boy, he loves things with wheels, so this went over pretty well...

I used the pattern from Knit It, but I changed it a bit...I used different colors, made the edges different.  It was a quick knit after a very long involved project, so I enjoyed it.

Thanks for looking!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Shrug from Knit It on: April 01, 2006 05:28:21 PM
I really liked this shrug in the picture in the magazine, but I'm not as thin as I once was, and I think I made it a little too small.  But, its super warm, and I'm sure it will be hanging out in my office for when I'm freezing my butt off!  Is it me or do all offices have to be below zero at all times?  But I digress.  The pattern was printed in the magazine wrong, and I had to find the real directions on the internet, but then I still had to figure some things out on my own.  Who knew a simple shrug could be so much work?!?  Anyway, enough of my rambling and on to the pics (poor quality because my boyfriend couldn't be bothered to get off the couch and take a good one):

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / if your boyfriend is weird like mine... on: September 30, 2005 06:03:08 PM
Ever since my boyfriend and I got together he has been begging and begging me to knit him some pants...and I have resisted.  I don't want to waste precious knitting time making him pants!  I made the mistake of telling him once that it wouldn't be hard, and I had a pattern idea in my head.  He bought the yarn, and of course he picked red and blue chenille (making the pants weigh about ten pounds!).  I knit them in the round from the bottom up, increasing as I went and splitting at the crotch.  I made two legs exactly the same, and then seamed up the crotch.  I folded and sewed down an inch at the top to make a space for a drawstring...and here is the finally product...I think they are hideous, but Gabe loved them the minute he put them on, and then demanded I make him another pair...this time with front access.

I hope I got this figured out...I'm not exactly computer savvy.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Cute Christmas stockings on: September 29, 2005 05:27:30 AM
Help!  My boyfriend and I moved in together earlier this year, and I want to make Christmas stockings for our first Christmas.  All the patterns I've seen in stores are hideous...does anyone have any suggestions for cute stocking patterns?
