1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Green is hope - or a halter ... finished project! on: August 01, 2006 05:24:18 AM
I love it!  I would wear it all the time
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Flower baby sweater on: July 21, 2006 06:24:26 AM
You are right!  Her friend's baby room is decorated in those colors, that's why she picked them.  I have no idea how close they are to the correct colors, but now I'm thinking of losing the baby in the room, too!

Ah...the butterfly...I frogged it twice, and now I'm about halfway done with the first side.  It's a pain, but such a beautiful pattern, so I'm determined.  I'm sure I'll post when it's done (if I ever finish!)
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Flower baby sweater on: July 19, 2006 03:38:12 PM
My future sister-in-law asked me to make a baby sweater for her friend using deep pink and mocha, and she drew a mock up for me.  This is what I ended up with:

I based the sweater on a pattern in Knit Simple, with modifications, and I got the flower pattern from http://onmymind.blogdrive.com/archive/81.html. It was quick and easy.  I used cotton yarn for the sweater and Lion Suede for the flower.  Nothing to fabulous, but a nice break from the frustrating butterfly that I was hoping to have done by now.

**the color is a little off...darn my stupid camera!**

Agh!  I have been knitting forever and I have never been so frustrated by a pattern!  I absolutely love everyone's butterfly and I have been dying to get this thing finished by summer.  Well, summer is here and I have no butterfly!  I started the frill, didn't do so well, ripped it out and started over.  Well, it looks okay, but then I got to the main part...and oooh did I f*ck somethings up.  How in the heck do you do a dec2? I thought I knew, but apparently not.  I think I'm going to rip the whole thing up and start over, using juniper's idea of double stranding for the frill.  I'm too embaressed to even post what I have done so far.  Is it best to use stich markers between each repeat?  I never thought of that, but it seems it would certainly help keep track of the repeats.  Sorry if I'm repeating questions.  Please help a frustrated knitter!

Okay, this is the second time I've seen this top on craftster, and I love it!  I must knit it!
Great job, your sister is lucky!

Here's my ballet tee, knit for my niece.  I got cheap yarn on ebay, and I had so much left over, that I made another one for my other niece and one for myself.  Not to flattering on me, but oh so cute on Ayla:

I absolutely love the color, it's such a nice green for the summer.

Love the color!  Looks great. What yarn did you use?
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: string bag on: May 04, 2006 12:34:47 PM
What a great summer bag!  As a self proclaimed purse aficinado, I am always looking for a great bag for the summer months.  What pattern did you use?  I hate making purses for all the finishing, but I think this one would be worth it!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / car sweater on: April 29, 2006 11:49:52 AM
As soon as warm weather hit, I finished this sweater for my nephew. Luckily, it's pretty big so he will be able to wear it this fall.  He's your typical boy, he loves things with wheels, so this went over pretty well...

I used the pattern from Knit It, but I changed it a bit...I used different colors, made the edges different.  It was a quick knit after a very long involved project, so I enjoyed it.

Thanks for looking!
