1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Denim threads? on: November 02, 2005 05:41:39 PM
Ok, so my computer is next to where I do my sewing, and just recently I've been doing things with denim a lot, but the thing I want ideas for is the small pile of denim frays. I've been fraying little bits over the corse of a week now, and it's quite a lot of mess. Is there anything I could do with them?
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Formal dress/sizing help on: September 27, 2005 09:14:29 PM

So- I said I'd make THIS dress for a friend for her birthday- it's all of two months away, so I've got time, but I have to start soonish, 'cause I've got to fit it to someone with a funny schedule.

I think I'm going to use THIS pattern, but the smallest size is a misses 6, and my friend still can sometimes fit into a girl's 16. She's about 5 feet, 3 inches, and slim. Would a size 6 work? I think I could make it work if I end up with straps, but strapless has to fit REALLY well.

Any tips? This is going to be my first real project- I've done halters and simple shirts before, but I really want to do this, and I think I can.
