1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / He looks like a deranged Easter Bunny on: November 06, 2008 06:42:42 AM

I'm an incredible procrasshole and waited until the day before Halloween to sew this.
And to my chagrin, my bobbin winder was not working so I had to wind the bobbins by hand.
But, it came out pretty well I think.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / He's a Pink Nightmare on: November 06, 2008 05:56:06 AM

He was supposed to have a trick or treat bag made with an old advert for a Red Ryder BB Gun, but I just ran out of time.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Foster's Home Felt Doll on: November 12, 2007 05:01:37 PM
My little one decided that he wanted all the Foster's characters.
He already has a large Bloo plushie and Cheese will be started soonish.
So, in the meantime between my exams and competencies at school I've decided to make him little felt dolls.

This weekend I made Eduardo.

I hope to get all the primary and secondary characters done for him and then make the house to store them in.

At least that's the plan...
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Mac & Bloo on: October 31, 2007 09:08:48 AM
My son has a Halloween party at pre-school today and he wanted to be Mac for "TwickorTweat"... so my spoiled little devil spawn was, indeed, Mac.

And what would Mac be without Bloo?

Thankfully, he doesn't have Mac's problem with sugar.
Although, he doesn't need it to be just as hyper.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Temperatures are up there, and its hot in Topeka. on: October 28, 2007 03:22:44 PM
My little boy's going to be Mac from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends for Halloween and I made him a Bloo plushie for him to carry around in his green backpack.

Next comes Cheese.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Cherry Blossom clock on: June 11, 2006 02:17:59 PM
I apologize, but I don't have any "before" pictures... but trust me, this is an improvement.

I bought this clock a long, long time ago from LTD and it was supposed to have a plain cream colored face. But it didn't. Instead, it had a cream colored face with this screen print of a stream and a little boy fishing and that was done in a chocolate brown. I couldn't stand it. I put it up in my kitchen and forgot about it (hence the dust on it).

So I decided to give it a little face lift. I painted the whole thing a chcolate brown and did an wash in gold. Then I laid in the branch in ebony, then the blossoms in 4 shades of pink. I finally etched in the lines to give it a little more depth.

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I need some paint help... on: June 09, 2006 02:36:22 PM
There was an episode of Trading Places years ago where one of the designers (Genivieve, I think) made a rusty wall using paint and some kind of activator. Does anyone know what it was called or where to get it? Since I live in an apt I can't paint the wall like that, but I do want to do a canvas and hang it in my bathroom.

8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Mmmm. Raku on: April 27, 2006 10:01:25 AM
We just did a raku firing in studio and I have these lovelies.
These are my first ever thrown pots and felt they should have a special glaze instead of your run of the mill cone 10 or 6 glazes.

I'll have better photos next week once I get them photographed for a portfolio.
I just was all proud of them Smiley
9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Urban Decay architechtonic vessel on: April 27, 2006 09:57:11 AM
I made this for a project in my ceramics studio in school. It almost made it into the honors art show, which I see as being a huge compliment... since I'm not (yet) an art student.

I based it on an old railroad terminal in Buffalo.

There's actually a crumbly wall that goes here, but it broke during bisque firing and had to be reglued. It's back up on the finished piece

I'm having photographs taken of this for a portfolio next week, once I get the pictures, I'll post those.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Need ideas... on: January 12, 2006 07:01:45 PM
My friend's kitty is not doing well and not expected to live much longer. She's his baby and it's going to kill him to lose her, they've been through so much together... I wanted to do something sweet for him that I can do fairly quickly and send to him (he lives in CA, I live in NY). I have only one picture of the cat, so I can't really do a scrap book/memories thing. And I don't want to ask him to send me any as I'd kinda like for it to be a surprise.
This is the picture I have:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/Geedownie/Poooooopie/Leesto.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">

Any ideas on what I could do that'd be a nice reminder of her for him.
I'd like to integrate her love of stealing the bacon out of his sandwiches and her love of liverwurst into the project because it's so much a part of her.
He also calls her Leestopotamus because he said she's a Pygmy Hippo. And said that she was going to move back to Vegas with a handkerchief on a pole.
I'm just trying to think of other things about her...
she's got short legs, likes to sleep on peoples' head and lick their scalps, he sticks his feet under her when they are cold... that's about all I can come up with. If you guys can help me come up with something wonderful, I'll love you all forever and ever.
