21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I need some paint help... on: June 09, 2006 02:36:22 PM
There was an episode of Trading Places years ago where one of the designers (Genivieve, I think) made a rusty wall using paint and some kind of activator. Does anyone know what it was called or where to get it? Since I live in an apt I can't paint the wall like that, but I do want to do a canvas and hang it in my bathroom.

22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: necklace #2: green glass & copper chain on: June 03, 2006 09:06:16 AM
It's gorgeous! I'm not much of a jewelry wearer, but I'd definitely wear that.
Stunning.

Have you considered going to a ceramics shop or one of those ceramic paintiing type places? You'd be able to get a bisque mug and glaze it exactly how you want and you'll know just houw durable it will be and won't be prone to flaking or easy  chipping.

It's so summery, it makes me want one and a cute summer dress and sandals to go with it.

That's really lovely!

I love the NBC bag.
The stencil on the front looks pretty crisp and overall, looks really well made. The only thing that I'd personally change in the future, considering the amount of time and attention you put into it, would be to stencil the lettering that's on the back instead of hand writing it. Other than that, it looks fantastic.

27  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: two new happy paintings! on: May 04, 2006 07:42:38 AM
They're beautiful! I love the composition on the first one especially.
The form's really fantastic.
28  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: Mmmm. Raku on: April 28, 2006 07:14:17 AM
It's a load of fun! We were having a great time just hanging out at the kiln and when the pieces were ready, igniting them in the sawdust bed. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get my own house in the next 5 years or so, and I'd love my own ragu kiln. I'd have to have an intervention.

Thanks Smiley
I actually hated this piece until I had it completely done. Now I love it, but don't have the room for it... but I may just bring it home anyway.

Here's part of the inspiration for the piece.

They look so much better in person. (Not to say that they don't look fantastic in the picture, but still).

I could become a raku junkie very easily.
