I LOVED that game when I was a kid.

There's one on LTD http://www.ltdcommodities.com/ for $33 and it's a good size.
We got it for my friend for Christmas.

Yep, he's Ralphie!
I'm already planning on taking a picture of him at Christmas in it Smiley
No BB gun though, because he really would shoot his eye out.
And the windows.
And the tv.
The glasses are just some $4 Harry Potter glasses I got at the costume store.
I had found a pair of exact frames on eBay, but with shipping they would have been $40 or so. (Too much for something he would probably break.)
We've been talking about going to The Christmas Story House and if we do, he's wearing it then too Tongue

He didn't quite understand the whole premise, but I showed him pictures of Ralphie before I started making it.
We watch that movie every year at least 3 times on Christmas Eve/Day.

We're planning on going to the Christmas Story House this year, and if we do... he's sooooo wearing it there Smiley

I'm an incredible procrasshole and waited until the day before Halloween to sew this.
And to my chagrin, my bobbin winder was not working so I had to wind the bobbins by hand.
But, it came out pretty well I think.

He was supposed to have a trick or treat bag made with an old advert for a Red Ryder BB Gun, but I just ran out of time.

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Foster's Home Felt Doll on: November 13, 2007 02:49:59 PM
I plan on making all of the main characters at some point.
(Glutton for punishment, I know)  Cheesy
Finding time is the big problem.
Next up is Bloo, Mac and Coco... in no particular order.

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Foster's Home Felt Doll on: November 12, 2007 05:01:37 PM
My little one decided that he wanted all the Foster's characters.
He already has a large Bloo plushie and Cheese will be started soonish.
So, in the meantime between my exams and competencies at school I've decided to make him little felt dolls.

This weekend I made Eduardo.

I hope to get all the primary and secondary characters done for him and then make the house to store them in.

At least that's the plan...

He originally wanted to be Bloo, but he wouldn't have been able to wear his costume at his pre-k party.

The actual costume was (obviously) easy.
A long john shirt that I used fabric markers on to make the black marks, a red pocketless t shirt, khaki cargo pants, hunter green back pack and some black and white skater sneakers.

Bloo is polar fleece and felt.
His body was machine stitched while I hand sewed his face and tweaked the curve of his head to make it a little more round.
