Went to Joanns today with a 60% off coupon and bought myself a little bundle of squares and 1/4 yard of clearance fabric (the bigger piece pictured). Cost me less than $5.50!! But I do think I will need to go back and get more of the clearance fabric.
Plan on getting the batting next weekend when it is 50% off and payday! I know there will be 50% off coupons between now and end of December, so even if I decide not to fight the holiday hordes, I will get it cheaply. The package I need is only 8.99 normal price.
After much deliberation I settled on these bundle of blue. There were 6 other stacks I liked too, but these won out for some reason. My tastes were all over the map, decided this wasn't too garish or girly. According to the sticker I have 6 squares measuring 18 x 21 each. The camera washed out the color a bit, they are actually very pretty!
Does anyone have any simple designs they think would fit these fabrics? I like the one with the spoon pocket, but found a huge list on tip nut too and they are all just so cute. I'm pretty new to sewing and have never quilted, so looking for easy, peasey!
In case you haven't realized yet...I'm the type who needs instructions! Not good at all at working off the cuff, at least not yet. Maybe someday I'll get there!
