41  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Wedding UNtraditions? on: March 16, 2006 07:28:52 AM
littleone1098 - We're having games at our wedding, but we've chosen things like Kerplunk, Operation, Battling Tops and Hungry Hungry Hippos that can be played really quickly, but are a lot of fun. My fiance wants Jenga, but I think all the pieces would just end up in food.
42  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Tapestry Crochet on: March 15, 2006 08:21:14 PM
There's more info about tapestry crochet here: http://www.tapestrycrochet.com/
I bought her book after seeing an article in the first Interweave Crochet. It has a lot of projects, some have cheesy motifs, but I like to use the construction with my own pictures.
You could make pretty much anything with it!
43  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Swapping w/ crafters who smoke? Opinions please on: March 15, 2006 07:18:38 PM
I think that most people are worried about yarn and fabric things that can take up the smell, and I know that some people add it into their swap sign ups.
I think your idea of writing that you are a smoker is very considerate, and it can only help the organizer put you with someone who will love your stuff.
I also think that if the person didn't specify a non-smoking partner, than you shouldn't worry about it, because there is no other way to find out.

45  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Wedding Swap Signups CLOSED send by 4/14/06 on: March 15, 2006 08:56:52 AM
I had been asked about the size requirements for this swap, and I realised that I forgot to add that to the list. I was thinking one large item (in time spent), OR a bunch of smaller items that make up the time. Of course, you can (and should) communicate a bit with your partner, too.

Oh, you definitely should! This should be a good one.
47  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knitty's Tubey Knitalong :D on: March 12, 2006 06:49:58 PM
I just ordered my yarn today! I got the Peruvian Highland Wool from Elann - It was around $2.25/ball. I ordered a cream colour for the main colour, and then aqua and brown for a few stripes. I can't wait until it arrives!
48  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: i have no theme...and almost no time on: March 12, 2006 06:46:11 PM
The last shower I went to was potluck, the hostess just provided the drinks and eating paraphernalia, and the fun. The games were the entertainment. Some women are probably going to take a 'no boys allowed' stance, so your bf may just want to help set up and clean up, but find something else to do in the middle. My other suggestion is to make the Thank You notes easier, have envelopes ready. Get everyone to write their addresses on the front, and then you can write the presents inside the flap later on when they are being opened. It really is all about the silly party games, though!  I hope it goes well.

I updated the three lists again, just let me know if anything needs to be fixed. Hilary
