Here's my Panta.

It was my first increase/decrease project, I'm probably taking the whole step-by-step learning thing a little too seriously Tongue

2  Re: Amelie Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by beans on: March 10, 2006 07:36:45 PM
Whoa, that is one fantastic book.

I got my package from craft_t_chic today, it's super-fantastic!
Here's the whole package all together

This was a very thoughtful package. Craft_t_chic filled the tin below with a number of things inspired by the opening sequence of Amelie. It had paper dolls, funny glasses, paper streamers to blow into, glue, and very cute cherry earrings.

She made a very cute gnome, Gnorm, which had cute little lapels, and a belt, and zigzaggy hair.

Inside the journal (in the centre of the picture of everything), there are some blank pages and some decorated pages. She used stamps, papers, pictures from the movie, and also did a few pictures of a gnome in different cities using paper components. It's awesome. I don't have much patience for glue and paper, so it's very impressive.

And the oh so perfect touch: a cute as heck Blubber bookmark, which Craft_t_chic actually SEWED onto the ribbon.

Thanks Craft_t_chic!

3  Finally, a use for those playing cards in Completed Projects by beans on: March 10, 2006 07:15:36 PM
I actually started making these for a friend who was married in Vegas this week.

I cut out the middle of one card, and with some creative taping and the plastic wrapping from a sticker package, I came up with these frames. I only use two cards for each frame, cause I use the cut-out middle as the stand in the back. I used aces for the frames I made for my friend.

5  Save-the-Date's : Finished! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by beans on: February 06, 2006 01:11:40 PM
We're getting married in the city we met in, so almost everyone coming to our wedding will have to travel. I loved geek_patrol's magnets, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=67180.0 We ordered from www.vistaprint.ca and chose one of their designs. The paper is from www.paper-source.com They were fantastic, and so, so helpful. We coudn't agree on any of the more 'elegant' ones, so we went for fun instead. Here are the cards!

We couldn't decide what to write on the inside either, we didn't want to repeat the info on the magnet, so after many, many rewrites that just didn't seem right, we chose:
Slap this baby on your fridge,
We're getting married
Saturday, July 29, 2006
And we want you to come!
Invitations to follow.

Maybe the invites will be a little more formal!   Wink

6  Re: Cosmo/Martini Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by beans on: January 29, 2006 07:25:05 PM
Hello again everyone,
pennies4sale sent me an email today saying she was finally in the same house as her package, so here are some pictures of what I sent to her.
The whole package:

The Cockatail Monkeys

Bead Necklace and Martini Charms

Crochet Clock (I left the hands off for sending so that they wouldn't get bent)

Here's my fantastic package from pennies4sale:

A painted cosmo box

Etched glass shot glasses (there were some really nicely-done martini glasses, which unfortunately didn't make it all in one piece)

Embossed 'Cheers' cards

and these fantastic coasters, which double as recipe cards. All the recipes are mocktails, because the town that I live in is a dry community, no alcohol allowed.

8  Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by beans on: January 21, 2006 11:24:22 PM
Wow, I love all of your sapphire rings! My engagement ring is a very 'traditional' diamond solitaire...

...until you check out the setting

Yay for fiances and getting married and having perfectly suited rings to boot!

9  Wearable Light Wrist Cuff in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by beans on: January 21, 2006 10:25:26 AM
Before Christmas, technoplay was looking for some people to play around with LEDs and battery backs to make wearable light crafts. I think that she is finished that part, though, she wanted the completed projects at the beginning of December. The threads about it are here:
And here is the picture of the cuff I made. It was really interesting. The kit came with instructions on how to put the electrical stuff (battery pack and LED lights) together, fabric for the cuff, templates and stencils for the designs and iron-on transfer sheets to put a design on the back. It was all packaged in a neat little book. Here is the picture of the cuff that I made.

Here's an action shot of my present from carolb! I love it, the hat fits perfectly over my ski mask and goggles. I may look silly with the mask and everything, but if it ever actually gets as cold as people tell me it will (-42 C plus a windchill) then I'll be thankful for being warm.

I also have a picture of the scarf I made for carolb

Happy New Year Everyone!
