1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Just Dance-- DO THE TIME WARP AGAINNNN. on: October 30, 2010 12:58:16 PM
So I've kind of already celebrated Halloween; my sorority had a swap last night and we all got to dress up and it was super fun. After quite a few days of debating between Justin Bieber and Columbia, I decided I would go as Columbia. I've wanted to do a Lady Gaga costume forever but knew I could never pull it off; that's where my friend, Beth, comes in. She asked me to make her costume, too, so she became my Barbie doll (or my Rocky, if we want to go with a theme) and let me dress her in the most rockin' Gaga costume I could produce with the time and skills at hand. And so this was born:

The Gaga costume was essentially spray painted paper shapes hot glued to a black tank top and worn with a black skirt that I made. I also managed to give her the Gaga hair bow. For my costume, I bought a cropped jacket at a thrift store for $5 then took it in, added coattails, then covered the whole thing, and my hat, in gold sequin fabric. The tank top was purchased for $3 and covered in glitter (which is still in my bra, in case you're wondering). I made the skirt and attached ribbons and made the bowtie (it's stuffed with cotton balls  Smiley ). Purchased, non-altered items include the shoes, blue socks, and fishnet tights. Here's the inspiration for both outfits:

Finally, a threequel to my first two Glee-shirts! I decided that, since Finn will be pretty much settled in with Rachel come season two, it was acceptable to amend my team affiliation for the time being. Artie is going to need a little support when Tina takes her little detour down Mike Chang Avenue, so I of course will be donning a Team Artie T-shirt on the premiere night.
I quite like my little Artie, but my regret with this T-shirt is that I started 'team' too far to the side and curves around to the point that you can't really read it. I can live with it, though. Cheesy

Those are mindblowing! I'm already trying to figure out how I can translate this idea to my dorm in the fall; I'm majoring in Fashion Design and these would be perfect to have as decoration.

Oh my... Good link!  Wink
Finn has the cute mouth but Puck has that sexy Jew thing going on (clearly enjoyed "Mash Up")... I think it's also a matter of types like Finn is my 'type' an awkward, nerdy (either inwardly or outwardly) and bulky (See: Seth Rogen) and guys that are just pretty (See: Jude Law). Same dichotomy happened watching Sherlock Holmes ha!

Also made of win:

Kurt: To get back at Puck. Arent the two of you dating?
Santana: Sex is not dating.
Brittany: If that were true, Santana and I would be dating

Also is that Mika in your avatar?

I'm glad to see how similarly our minds work. Smiley Puck is, without a doubt, BEAUTIFUL! However, I'm 5'9", so the fact that Finn is six inches taller than me makes him an automatic win. I want to be able to look up at someone, haha.
It is Mika! That picture is also my desktop background. I love him! He's so quirky and talented and precious.

haha "I have to go or they'll think I'm pooping" is my favourite line from Finn too! I laughed so hard...

My other favourite line is " Oh sure he's dumb like sand" I use it all the time :]

I like the Finn shirt!! You should have his smile on the side of his face haha like so:

I wanted the pictures to be as close to the promo pictures as possible but trust me, it was heavily considered. Just like I considered changing Puck's picture [or converting to his team all together] when I saw this:
http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/files/fec-mark-salling-2.jpg

It's a big picture, so I thought I'd link it instead of inserting the picture. Trust me, it's worth the click!

Oh, and while we're on the topic of quoting Finn...
"Do you see anyone else in here with a plate of 'I'm sorry' cookies? I don't. Just you."

Puck could totally be a descendent of Count Rugen Wink haha

I like the shirt I would have to say though I'm Team Who Ever Would Look My Way First haha both are cute and I don't think Puck is that slimy, I mean at least Puck has the cognitive capacity to multitask a bunch of girls and is (more or less) up front with his needs, then a boy who completely believes he knocked a girl up in a hot tub  Undecided Both boys are cute though I prefer Finn's look over all (have a weird like for boys that talk out of the side of their mouth  Kiss).

Also for all you gleeks there is a Glee swap over here...

Hahaha, I think I'm on that same team, it's just harder to make a T-shirt for that one. Smiley Honestly, my friend and I both based our preferences on who we'd rather look at. Puck is a jerk and Finn is just so dumb. I love Finn's character and his lines always have me in stitches (one of my personal favorites: "I have to go or they'll think I'm pooping!"), but if I knew him... I don't think I would be friends with him. However, I'd pay money to stand next to that 6'3" angel all the time.

I forget who asked, but I did make the Finn shirt! As painful as it is for me to say it, I think I like the Puck shirt more, sixth finger aside. This is going to sound strange, but I LOVE his arched eyebrow! It makes the shirt for me, haha. Anywho, here's a picture of me looking awesomely foolish in my Team Finn shirt.

*I know the detail isn't as visible as it needs to be here. I have since made the lines much darker. Also, plenty of friends have been requesting Team *character* shirts, so depending on how time works out, I may have many more to post later!

duct tape & gift bowse = HEART

OMG i would wear that everywhere.  and pull off bows to put on random children's heads.  "child you are a gift!"  LOL

This is SO WONDERFUL...  I'm bookmarking the page.  ROCKS

Hahaha, I love it. The designer actually named the piece "My Presence is your Present." Smiley

haha, that's awesome! They both are pretty hot...which makes me feel like a dirty old lady lol! How old are these guys anyways?

Hahah, no fear. They're both 27. Smiley
I thinking of running a ribbon up the side of the shirt to cover up the excess finger, but I might just see if my friend prefers six-finger Puck.

So, my friend and I are MAJOR Glee fans, though we have one difference of opinion regarding the show: she thinks that Mark Salling, or Puck, is the most marvelous thing that has ever happened to her eyes while I believe that Cory Monteith, Finn, is far more marvelous. I decided that I wanted to make us Team Finn/Team Puck T-shirts. Or... GLEE-shirts! Heh, get it?
This was a long time ago. I finally got around to it this evening and the T-shirt ended up so great! I was extremely excited and pleased and giddy, until I noticed it. A flaw. The tragic flaw of my Team Puck T-shirt.

As you may have noticed, poor Noah Puckerman here has six fingers. Six. I have never been so disappointed in myself in my entire life. However, I'm still proud of about 85% of my work here and wanted to share my terrible tragedy.

Also, I'm proud to announce that Finn, of the Team Finn T-shirt has a perfectly normal set of five fingers. That is all.

*swoon*

What was the fundraiser for?

We were raising money for two different charities, Spirit of Youth Foundation and Manna International Project. They both go toward improving school facilities in Egypt, Ecuador, and Nicaragua where recycling is vital to their community.
