Wee! I went fabric shopping with my mom on Sunday and found the perfect fabric for my prom gown. Teal (blue interweaved with green) silk dupioni.  ::drools:: It also happens to be impossible to photograph. 

I'm making Simplicity 5237, with a few alterations:

The bottom hem of the top dress will extend all the way down, over the tulle, and at the waist, there will be a pleated inset that looks some what cumberbun-ish (I saw something similar on a dress from Black Market White House).

I finally finished my dress, four hours before I had to leave to go to my friend's house for pictures.  It turned out great, and no one had a dress that looked anything like it. I love the wonders of sewing your own things.

I just received from viciouskittie yesterday, and I love all of it. I haven't had time to take any pictures of it, but here's a list of the piratey goodness I received:



- two nautical star hooks, perfect for decorating my dorm room next year
 

- a glass jar full of sand and shells from a beach by where she lives, where Blackbeard used to roam


- an amazing skull n' crossbones felt patch thing (that was a horrible description of it  )


- a skull and crossbones charm thing


- a red bandana
- a treasure chest lined with this fun soft material that was filled to the brim with treasure soap and skull soap


and finally, she even added a Valentine's day gift!
- little heart soaps and a bigger heart soap that says "Love" on it

For the Geek Swap I made these paper crane earrings.

For the Geek swap, I stenciled this shirt for seaofstars.

I have no idea what I want my prom gown to look like this year. I went to my boyfriend's prom two years ago and made this gorgeous black and white gown with some red accents.

Here it is when I rewore it to last year's Winter Formal:

So I don't know if I want to do glamorous and traditional again, or something more crazy this year.

OMFG! I found my package today! Apparently it had come in when I was out of town so it got placed in my room with piles of clothes.
Anywho...

Kousagi sent me a package of wonderful geeky goodness and I love it all sooooooo much.
I got:
- a CD necklace

- a stuffed fireflower from Super Mario


- geek keyboard magnets


- 2 sided MegaMan keychain
   

- and finally a nifty Pac-Man box to keep it all in!

That is radical.  Where did you get the stencil?  My boyfriend wants one now!

I did a google search for NES controller, and I found this:



I just cropped it on paint and printed it out.

So my boyfriend's birthday is coming up on Saturday, and I never know what to get the boy, so I decided to be crafty.

Here is the NES Controller stencil I did:


It was my first stencil and I did it with the freezer paper. That worked out so well!


So I finished the Pac-Man shirt I was working on, sadly there was some bleeding, but it was kind of an even amount of bleeding so it looks like it is supposed to be like that (I think). Sorry for the horrid webcam pictures.
