on how to make the paint chip wallet, there are a couple tutorials online.  this is the one i used: http://www.jesser.org/crafts.php?id=4

and it actually holds up well with heavy stuff because i interfaced it and sewed over the webbing like, 5000 times.  i never usually carry more than 2 big textbooks at a time, but that is true of all messenger bags for me.  i'm a weakling, haha.

If you're gonna make a messenger bag, make sure your shirt is at least a 2XL.  Unless of course you just want a purse messenger bag.  I was dumb and in a hurry so I got an XL and it wasn't big enough.  I had to order another plain shirt from American Apparel. 

My sewing machine is usually packed up because I have nowhere to put it, but I wanted to make a new bag for school, so I set it up.  Here it is:

i lost my old wallet, so i'm pretty low on cards and such

i made sure the glue was really tight and re-glued it, it seems pretty secure for now.  and of course, my sewing machine just decided to break :-(.

and to make it, all i did was use the 'messenger bag with gusset' tutorial, and i put interfacing on the back of the shirt because it was so thin. 

sad, i love the old swap gallery, but i will only have been a member for 23 days on the last day!  agh, i also want to do the gilmore girls swap.  i guess i will have to wait and hope swaps this cool pop up again.

all of the t-shirts in my home are hiding from me, i am making them all into bags!

so, i've never made a messenger bag, and making this made me realize how much i LOATHE webbing.  i had no heavy-duty needles or anything, so i turned to my favorite adhesive, super glue!  it seems like it's holding up, but we'll see when my bag falls apart and my crap goes all over the school, haha.
