1  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Organizing a Zine Fair in the Twin Cities! on: March 01, 2009 06:57:01 PM
Hello there!

I'm new to the area as of sept 08. I am a zinester and am looking to reach out to other zinesters/crafters in the area. I would love to orchestrate a Zine Fair in the near future and was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating and selling/swapping their wares? I find my friend's in other parts of the world have zine fairs all the time but I have yet to find a lot here, as well as I'm trying to find other zinesters to meet to possibly have weekly meetups to help inspire each other and work on our projects together.

If you are at all interested in this or know anyone who would be interested in this could you please let them know, and either respond to this post or email me @ jemnifur@gmail.com

You can check out some of my zines on my etsy jemnifur.etsy.com . I just put out a new issue and am working on the next one already, pretty excited but would like to be more in a scene with it and have more people interested in the zine scene!

Thanks,
Jem

this would be really fun for someone who is into Hello Kitty...and I'd be willing to match up with someone who likes her..even though I really dislike Hello Kitty Myself..

I am more of a Badtz Maru girl.. [ we have the same birthday!!] I also like Chibi Maru...

I'd be interested in this swap!

I just received my bag from : Craftcoeur !!

She even packaged up some goodies, and now I feel bad that I didn't, i had planned on a wallet but it didn't turn out the way I wanted..meh! but I know what you are all waiting for ...so here are the pictures..
sorry if they are too huge!

The Whole Lot of everything.
Including the fabulous bag, a postcard with a note on it, her crafty bizz card, some chocolates!, the tin had the earrings wrapped up in that pretty scrap of fabric, and then the beautiful flower brooch!

A Close up of the cute bunny pocket!

The Gorgeous Lining!! mm.. strawberries!

the Pretty Fabric the earrings were wrapped in!

The Lovely handmade earrings she included in my packaged!! [ you are tooo nice]

And the lovely Brooch!

I was sooo spoiled! .. but I thought it was funny that we both included Bunnies on each other's bag,
although the one I put on hers is a bit more abstract!

Thank you very much CraftCoeur! you are such a sweetheart and a great crafty gal!

alright here's my list::::
a Bartlett's (quote book) [[of course, with a few from the movie and space for the receiver to write his/her own.]]
Soundtrack
Joel Hat
Clem armwarmers
Potato People. [[perhaps ask for a favorite memory of that person, make the people and photograph like in joel's note. but also send the potatos]]
Fake Tape//Notice from Lacuna
Altoid Shrine (idea: the charles river night picnic)
That thing that hangs in the window that reminds joel to go to Mauntok (i think it's like two birds or something)
"Clementine" ugly doll
Pillow (the suffocation game)
Striped Clem Undies  Tongue if your partner's not too shy. haha.

ok and that's as far as i got in the movie last night so my ideas stopped there.
 Cheesy more later perhaps?

Great Ideas Ally.. I especially like the idea for the Note from Lacuna, I will definatly include that in my trade.. that would so be posted on my little message board in my house if I received one .. you could do a whole stationary set based on it w/ that quote at the top..

Anything Montauk related..like a brochure there, a little bottle filled w/ sand w/ "meet me in Montauk" on it.. ..
or a piece of weathered wood to look like that house that they snuck into with some quote on it..

A BIRD HOUSE..haha that would be hilarous..like the one David Cross was making, haha that was hilarous..

etc. etc. etc..

Keep the ideas coming dolls!

wow I just saw this..
I love Katamari.. and for those of you who don't have the soundtrack I can send a cd with the music if we are to swap together..
and there are about a MILLION things to swap because there are a Million things in the game, [ literally] you could do the Little Girl and boy.. with the signature saying " I feel it, I feel the Cosmos!" someone could make a pillow of heads of any of the cousins or the prince.. you could do stationary, or little figurines of scared people about to get piled up.. or a drawing from a scene in the game...etc. .etc.. etc..
