1  Binder Makeover in Completed Projects by princessleia on: May 05, 2006 12:51:21 AM
I have a really standart 2 ring binder that I use for school. The other day I decided that it deserves some special attention, so I gave it a make over!
Here is the "before" picture-   Plain green, some cheesy saying written on it...bleh.
I glued peices of Newpaper to it-

and I painted a fat kitty on each side of the binder!-

It was supposed to create a yin-yang effect but it didn't turn out as well as I expected. I still like it though. All I need now is some clear tape to wrap it with for protection.

I hope you like!

2  what to do with an old mural? in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by princessleia on: February 13, 2006 04:52:29 AM
Hi everyone!
I made this about 4 years ago, when I was really into fantasy/mythology.
(please ignore the messy bed)

It looked good when my room's "theme" was fantasy...Now it just looks stuck.
I want something different, although I still think it's pretty.
Any ideas on what should I do with it? Keep it? remove it and hang framed pictures?
Just please don't say color it...

4  2 paintings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by princessleia on: November 08, 2005 12:17:47 PM
It seems like I haven't been here for ages...
Anyways- here are two of my paintings. These are not new. Since I'm in uni I don't have much time to paint (so sad).

This one is mixed media. Her skin is made out of peices of newspaper.

This one is probably my first acrilic ever...I still adore it.

Hope you like them.

5  Just a little touch of star quality in CHALLENGE 6 ENTRIES by princessleia on: October 09, 2005 11:01:22 AM
What's cheaper than a plastic bag? well- nothing. I did my project on a plastic bag. I also used paint, ugly buttons that I found, masking tape(to make a "base" for the paint), some cardboard, a cereal box, newspaper(for the woman's skin), one of those paper flowers people use for gift wrapping and brown wrapping paper.
I really tried to make my peice as colourfull and chearfull as possible. The girl in the front is not supposed to be someone special, but after I finished I thought she looks like French actress Virginie Ledoyen, and she definitely has star quality Wink
And here are some photos from the process.

Just a regular plastic bag...(this is actually the other side of the bag after I already started)

sticking masking tape around the image of the girl- to create a base for the paint.
a star...
buttons
some more buttons...
The womans face

Tada!

Hope you like Wink

6  turquoise earrings in Beads: Completed Projects by princessleia on: October 01, 2005 07:20:14 AM
I had this idea for earrings, so I told my mom and she helped me to make them.
Here is a photo of one of them (the other one is quite similar).

Here is a clearer photo of the picture on  the top. I'm sorry about the quality- that's what I can do with a cell phone camera...

8  A japanese inspired box in Completed Projects by princessleia on: September 22, 2005 08:48:56 AM
I did this one a while ago. It's a wooden box that I painted using acrylics. the front is striped, the top has a cute girl painted on, and the rest is painted red.
