731  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: flutegeek's version of a duct tape wallet [IMG. HEAVY!!] on: January 23, 2006 04:08:43 PM
I really, really like that design.  Did you use a tutorial, or make it up?  If you made it up, could you make a tutorial?  I really like the way the inside is laid out, with the little clear window for stuff, and everything...

Ooh.  I must make.  Yay for a good excuse to go down to the big electronics store next weekend!  Grin

Last summer a couple of my friends and I found this old trashed computer and ripped it apart, and I found this pretty little cable that was light blue, light purple, orange and black, it was such nice colors!  I want to make something fancy out of it, for now I just kind of wrap it around my wrist and twist it through itself to make it stay.

Ooh, pretty!  I lovelovelove those kinds of rings... does the metal bend easily, though?  I mean, if say, one of those pretty little loopies got caught on something, would it bend the whole thing to heck, or is it more sturdy than it looks?

Heh, I got bored this morning  Grin

I just now noticed I did a horrid job sewing in the end of my yarn, look at it sticking out!  Lips sealed
736  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ribbon Necklace on: January 21, 2006 07:35:51 AM
Last night I was a Michael's, and I found these adorable little old-fashioned key charms, 6 for $2!  How could I resist?  When I got home last night, I stared at my little keys, waiting for them to tell me what to make with them.  Then one of them suddenly burst out, "Me!  I'm a necklace!"

Well, I don't have very many short chains for putting charms on.  Usually I'll just tie them around my neck with some ribbon, but I tie a knot because otherwise it comes undone and falls off.  This wastes lots of ribbon, because then I have to cut it off when I'm done with it.  So, being the clever child I am, I found some little rings, and tied the ribbon to them, then attached a little lobster-claw clippie from an old necklace I hated.  And, ta daa!  My cute new ribbon necklace!  Grin

737  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: anti-valentine's day media list on: January 17, 2006 06:13:22 PM
"Down With Love" was wonderful, and would be a great addition to the list....

...except at the end, when the ruined it all.  Angry
738  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: More Yarn, Less Art - Knitting Photography *IMAGE HEAVY* on: January 12, 2006 08:42:51 PM
I'm a photography student... I love them!  That's such a fabulous idea... unfortunately we only have a b&w lab at my school, and somehow I don't think that would capture the essence of yarn so well.  Roll Eyes

But they're absolutely beautiful.  I love your use of light... and the flow, and texture!  I adore photos with texture.  Good job!

What kind of cables are those, though?  I mean, for the first-time cabler, that could easily be made with regular cables, but that's something a little fancier on that poncho, isn't it?
740  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Mike Nesmith (from the Monkees) hat? on: January 10, 2006 09:01:04 PM
Yeah, I've decided that the man that I will someday marry needs to be Mike Nesmith with a dash of Micky Dolenz mixed in. <3

On topic, w00t, tomorrow I'm going to buy lovely bright blue wool yarn for my hat!  Grin
