721  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Mike Nesmith Stencil! [Image Heavy] on: February 03, 2006 06:48:44 PM
I used this tutorial to make my first stencil!

I did it onto a scrap of t-shirt fabric, then roughly stitched it on a black shirt I had.  It's kinda messy, but I like it.  This is the original picture I used:

Mmm... he's so pretty.  Grin  *ahem* Anyway, yay for my first stencil!  I want to try it again with the freezer paper method, because I lost a lot of detail with the other way.  Huzzah!
722  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Duct Tape Spike Cuff on: January 30, 2006 06:28:48 PM
were the spikes hard to put in?

Nope.  I punched holes in the duct tape with a sharp pencil, then the spikes just screw in.  It's easy as pie!  The whole thing took me maybe an hour or so.
723  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Duct Tape Spike Cuff on: January 30, 2006 04:42:18 PM

Ta daa!  I got bored the other night, and there was a roll of duct tape sitting next to me, crying for attention.  I got those little spikeys at Hot Topic a few months ago and I've been looking for something to do with them.  The whole cuff is only made of duct tape,  and it closes with a buckle I cut off my boots a while ago.

See?  Buckle!  It was a tiny bit tricky to get it on, but not really.

And there's the whole thing.  I <3 it!  Grin

I LOVE the colors!  You embroidered all that?  It's beautiful!
725  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: How about gifts for the computer-geek fiance? on: January 30, 2006 06:19:49 AM
Electrical tape roses tend to go over well with the geeky types.  Or duct tape.  Hmm... I should have more ideas than this, I'm a computer geek myself, and I was seriously dating one, too, until recently.  I'll be thinking about it, ok?

Heh, how about a stick of RAM with a note on it that says "here's to all the good memories!"  Roll Eyes  Buh, I'm so corny.  But you can usually get old, cheap sticks of RAM at goodwill or the thrift store.  They won't work, but you don't need them to.  You could decoupage it on the back and make a keyring...
