so i cast on last night but took a break so that i could watch a video this morning on knittinghelp.com about yo's.
sometimes i really wish i had internet access at hoooooooome.
the video makes things super crystal now and i'll start row 5 tonight.
hopefully, i'll be able to get thru it without anymore need for video tutorials.
knittinghelp.com is awesome btw.
Emms, i think you introduced me to it in one of your posts.

28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Got a child between 5 and 7 years? Please help me with my Textiles Coursework on: March 16, 2006 08:36:51 AM
1. Do you have a child aged 5-7 years old?
Yes

2. What colour do you prefer for children’s clothing?
Blue

Other: Brown

3. What would you pay for a summer outfit for a child aged 5-7? (approx 1.75 USD to the pound)
£10 – 14.99

4. What are the two most important factors when choosing clothes for children?
Appearance
Material

5. What fabrics do you prefer?
Cotton

6. What clothes do you like on children aged 5-7?
Skirts  (skorts are better for school)
Dresses
Trousers
Dungarees
Shorts
Long Sleeve Tops
Short Sleeve Tops

7. Do you think a cat theme would be suitable? (cat motif etc.)
undecided. depends on the theme. cutesy kitten theme: yes for a girl, no for a boy. my son is 6 and wouldn't be caught dead in "cat" clothing. However, my daughter (she just missed your age group when she turned 8 a couple of weeks ago) adores kittens. big mama cats...not so much. anything that makes her go "awwwww" she'll wear.

hope this helps.

29  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Isabeau, small and quick... anyone game? on: March 15, 2006 12:07:05 PM

Hi chrissy.eew...

I was listening to a podcast today (Pointy Sticks Ep #3) and she remarked on how one of her first projects was lace knitting, because she didn't realize that lace is supposed to be hard.

I have found that beginners can do amazing things when ppl give them the confidence to. I say go for it, we are all here to help and hold your hand, and the pattern is really clearly written anyhow, so you shouldn't have any problems.

I have found that if you really want something, your skills will rise to meet it.

Emms Cheesy

Thanks Emms.
you know, when i think about it...thats how i tackle everything. i jump right in and expect that i can do it.
ok.
i start this weekend. thank you for the hand holding.

this looks like a really fun project.
is this way past my skill level though if i'm a beginner?
as in brand new beginner.  as in i have to ask if this is beyond my skills beginner?
amazing project for a knitalong either way! Grin
