I've had this grand theme in my head all along but now that I'm actually starting to get the planning in order, it's less about the lucky 13 than it is halloween festivities...any ideas on how to steer, (slightly) away from the halloween part back to the lucky 13?
(ps, I'm getting married next Friday, the 13th, and just now starting the preparations...i work better under stress...)
I've been walking around for weeks saying exactly this! I've lost my mojo, too! I'm slowly getting out of it but still not knitting nearly as much as I was before...but I still like to buy yarn-I haven't lost that mojo.
(And yes, it's been like 2 months since I've been here, too! I didn't realize how sad it was until I came back and saw all that i've missed! Maybe now that the new knitty is up with tons of super cute things, maybe it shall cure the both of us!)
So, I'm making the little ballet sweater and I thought I got enough yarn but, turns out, my math just isn't up to par.
I'm using Classic Elite, color # 2614, (a glorious super dark blue-green, dark teal colored yarn-soft and shiny!) and I'm running out and I just don't even want to pick up the needles again til I can find more. I've searched and searched, gone to my LYS, checked everywhere I can think of online-and I cannot find that color. 2613 and 2615, yes but, no 2614. I've even sent emails to yarn stores all over the country-only 2 have replied but, they don't have the color.
Anybody ever run into this and how did you fix it without frogging the project? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this yarn and I just don't want to give up hope! Any help would be greatly appreciated...
you can definitely do this- it was my 1st experience in reading a chart and changing colors-i think it was the best way to figure out, too...i had to frog the scarf about 4 times before i finally got it right but, if you stick with it, it will get easier-(and you'll also appreciate the fact that you don't need to cut the yarn when you change rows-many, many less ends to weave in later...)
Forgot to tell you, if you're reading the written instructions, look out-it has you start with the main color but you should be starting on the CC-unless it's been corrected...this helped in fueling the super-frustration when I started doing it-also taught me not to be lazy and just read the damned chart)
oooh, EricaB, yours looks perfect! This is actually what I'm planning on making next-what kind of yarn did you use? actually, I should check your blog... never mind, but it's gorgeous! (and it looks stunning on you!)
ok, just got back from your blog and now I really need to learn how to crochet!!! your stuff is beautiful!
no, no spirals420 those are awesome!! I LOVE the colors! I made a scarf out of some fuzzy novelty yarns just cause I couldn't think of anything else that would do those colors justice-one of these days i'll get around to making myself a pair of these...i love them.
I'm gonna jump on the "butter is a bitch" bandwagon and say good for you for being an adult... I like the comment at the end, too-I say you should just block her IP cause it only gives her attention that she doesn't deserve.
Also, thank you for posting all of this and making me realize that, despite I the fact that I thought I didn't have a life, turns out, mine is nowhere near as pathetic as those chicks.
ooh, I really, really wanna do this but don't have the yarn and can't find it online-(haven't looked terribly hard, to be honest but,)
I've really been wanting to do the spiderweb capelet in SNBN but pattern calls for Crystal Palace Merino Frappe-and i apologize in advance if this has already been asked on one of the other boards...) anyone know of a good, cheap yarn sub?
