This thing was a pain to make, and i don't think i'll be doing anything like it again, but i do think it turned out pretty well.

What do you think?

made a nurse... wallet? change purse?  Actually it's a perfect size for my digital camera...

Not as clean, because it was harder to stitch that size, but i like it.
What do you think?

15  Re: cute handbags made out of wrappers! <3 in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by toomuchrock on: July 02, 2006 07:23:49 PM
so here is how its done,

i threw this together quickly so it doesnt look to great, but you can see what to do at least.

also, here is a picture of a guy sewing them, so i know this is how its done.

Now that i think about it, when i was younger my dad (who is a prison guard) brought me home some shoes (little) that were made using this method and cigarette packages, they were held together with floss. You'd be surprised at the things you can do with floss.

16  Nurse Purse *giggles* in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by toomuchrock on: June 26, 2006 07:25:24 PM
So I was recently accepted into nursing school and start this August. I've already paid for all my needles, syringes, blood pressure cuffs, and all that other clinical stuff that i'll have to take with me to the hospital and labs, but it didn't come with a case for it all. So I, the crafty devil i am, decided that i had to have one cooler than all the other potential nurses.

So this is what i came up with.

The only thing is that it turned out a little bigger than i wanted. I guess it is ok since I can carry a clip board and notebook if i like, but i was trying to make something kinda smaller.

I can't decide whether I want to keep it.
What do you guys think of it? Think it will be to risque to take to the hospital?

18  Can you make me some tags for my stuff? in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by toomuchrock on: June 17, 2006 08:29:53 PM
I am interested in trading either crafted good, or commisioning someone to make some tags for my work.

Those basic iron on ribon tags would work, and i already have a graphic.

I would want the tag to be able to folk over and be blank on the side, so that i can sew them into seems, rather than around the edges, you know?

This is what i want the graphic to be.

and here are some examples of my work, in case you wanted to trade. I can make a hell of a purse.

19  New purse with losta pockets and funness! **photo heavy** in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by toomuchrock on: June 17, 2006 07:40:41 PM
So I eventually find something wrong with every purse i make for myself.

This is the newest addition of the collection. I like this one because it has a pocket for everything specifically.
A pocket for pens, camera, pda, cell phone, and keys... everything else just floats in the bottom.

I also notice that the more purses i make the bigger they seem to get. I think i just draw stuff in there.

I like to have stuff to keep me occupied if im out and get bored. A friend of mine said i reminded her of the girl in  the breakfast club who just dumped all the stuff in her purse out on the table. Well, yea i've done that before to break up the silence at a dull moment or two.

Without further ado, the pictures!

20  So I made this Checkered Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by toomuchrock on: June 06, 2006 10:29:15 PM
And actually don't need it. I'm thinking of starting an etsy store, but i dont think this would be good enough to make the cut. I plan to add a stencil to the outside.

What do you guys think of it. (i didn't take a picture, but it opens long ways on the side, for cash and such)
