THIS!!!

This was my dream costume this year but couldn't find a suitable dress or find the time to try to construct it...

Did you make it from scratch or alter an existing dress?  Grin

I altered a dress I found at an antique store.  It was originally white and I had to paint it because it wouldn't hold dye (which took FOREVER with all the layers of swiss dot), but other than that all I did was cut off the poofy sleeves and add arm warmers.  I made the veil and a little hair clip with fake bangs since I didn't want to cut my hair.  Oh and a hoop skirt out of a hula hoop and a scooby-doo bedsheet, ha!

ADORABLE!!! I WANT TO MAKE ONE!!!!

And as for the mouth, You could make his O off to the side like he's saying oops!! You could give him eyebrows also, for more emotion. I also thought a side smile might be cute.

I love him so much!! Could you possibly give a tut?
aw thanks!  maybe i could make a tut after all the holiday stress is done if you're still interested, but right now is just sooooooo busy!

okay so you guys are about half and half on the mouth...which leaves me right where i was before! Cheesy
i like the idea of interchangeable ones, i thought about doing that with velcro but forgot to mention it.  i guess great craftsters think alike, huh?  i really like the button idea though, so that even when my nephew loses all the pieces, the monkey will still have a mouth!
thanks to all for your wonderful comments and suggestions!
