1  Hearts on a String Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by shmac on: February 11, 2014 09:23:27 AM

My oldest daughter goes to a school that requires uniforms, but they can wear regular clothes on special occasions.  She told me a couple of days ago that she will be allowed to wear her favorite Dr. Who t-shirt to school on Valentine's Day as long as she wears something with a heart on it.  I had to think of something quickly and this is what I came up with.  Since my oldest daughter is at school, my youngest was forced very kindly volunteered to model it for me.

If anyone is interested in the pattern, it is up on my blog:  http://crochetbot3000.com/2014/02/hearts-on-a-string-scarf/

Thanks for looking!

2  Aries Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by shmac on: February 01, 2014 02:23:04 PM

My niece has been begging me to crochet her a hat and I finally had the time to make it.  Since it is nice and toasty out here in AZ, she has been wearing her hat with shorts and a t-shirt.  In fact, all of my kids are sporting winter hats and scarves with their shorts and sandals.  It looks a little weird, but they are happy so I'm happy Smiley

If anyone wants the pattern, it is up on my website:  http://crochetbot3000.com/2014/01/aries-hat/

3  Would You Like A Jelly Baby? in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by shmac on: October 15, 2013 10:01:39 AM
Three of my four kids love Doctor Who and they each have their favorites.  The fourth Doctor happens to be my 3 year old's Doctor of choice.  I made the 10th and 11th Doctors for the other Whovians in my family and my littlest guy has been begging me to make the "Scarf Doctor."  When I handed Four over to my son this morning, he exclaimed, "He is my best friend!"  I am pretty sure that means he approves   Grin

4  Geronimo! The Eleventh Doctor in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by shmac on: September 10, 2013 07:45:40 PM
My oldest son asked me to make his favorite Doctor for him.  I have been reworking my usual pattern that I use for my finger puppets.  I have added a nose and changed the eyes so that they are a little less reptilian looking.  I will probably keep the changes but make the forehead smaller in the future.  What do you guys think?

5  Allons-y... Take 2 in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by shmac on: July 29, 2013 05:56:10 PM
Awhile back, I made my oldest daughter a 10th Doctor finger puppet.  She loved it.  She took the puppet on all sorts of adventures and made tons of stop motion videos with him and the Weeping Angel I made her.  Fast forward to now... My 3 year old got a hold of 10 and, somehow, dyed him blue.  I wanted to make it up to my daughter so I made her another one.  I have reworked my standard finger puppet pattern to make the head less spherical and more head shaped.  Also, I gave him a nose  Smiley  Thanks for looking Cheesy

6  Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (pic heavy) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by shmac on: May 25, 2013 03:50:23 PM
I love the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it is my all-time favorite book.  I decided to celebrate Towel Day by making myself a set of finger puppets from the books.

7  Whale-iam in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by shmac on: March 15, 2013 05:07:17 PM

My son, Eamon, came to me with a simple request.  He wanted me to make him a whale with a blue goatee and a baseball bat coming out of the blow hole.  I still have to make the bat and sew on the goatee, but here is the whale before I add the extra details Smiley

Anyone who is interested can find the pattern (free) at http://crochetbot3000.com/whale-iam/.

I finished adding the goatee and baseball bat.  Can I just say that it was super hard for me to put that stuff on Whale-iam because I liked how he looked before.  Well, Eamon can never say I don't love him Wink

9  Don't Blink! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by shmac on: October 11, 2012 05:41:08 PM

My oldest daughter is turning 11 next week and she loves Doctor Who.  I already made her a finger puppet of the 10th Doctor, but I wanted to make her favorite villain too.  For some reason she loves weeping angels.  They terrify me and my eyes are watering as I type this Wink
