I'm working on the Celtic Cap. http://www.girlfromauntie.com/patterns/shop/celticcap/detail.php
This is the first project I've ever made a swatch for. I measured my bf's head, I made a swatch, I talked to the LYS before starting to make sure all my ducks were in a row because I shelled out a little more money on the yarn. I even bought Addi Turbo needles to work on this.
I really struggled with getting it off the ground. I must have started over ten times. I was trying to work on it off and on during school, or off and on while cleaning. Now that I've had a break (and the house is clean!), I managed to get past the problem - and learned to cable without a cable needle!
So my bf got home last night, I tried to put the hat on his head to see how it fit, and it's HUGE. I mean HUGE. I'm so frustrated. Can I shrink it? Should I sew it smaller since I'm working it flat? Should I bag the whole thing? Should I suck it up and start over AGAIN? I would do almost anything to avoid that.
Please help..... I've never had gauge problems before.
