Faceted Topaz stone set in sterling on a knotted 16 inch strand of Aquamarine faceted beads - I hated to part with it!

depends on what the "dirt" is and what material the jewelry is made from, but when we do repairs on costume pieces in the shop we take no chances with soap or chemicals.  Dampen a paper towel with water and wipe carefully.

Dip a q-tip in liquid silver cleaner and apply it to the silver avoiding the stone completely and rinse.  I then follow up with the sunshine cloth to get it to the original shine.

if it's plated with silver I think you can paint it with bleach or liver of sulphur with a q-tip.  Wait until desired darkness and rinse with water.

The positive/negative is intriguing.  How did you treat the first instrument?  The second is wrapped in wire I gather, I'd sure like to hear about the materials you used.  Not a tutorial, just what it's made from.

PS: using the one bow can be a very powerful message in the world right now.

Hugely impressive.  That is right up my alley, I hope it goes for the amount you think it would go for.  You're wonderful for putting that up for charity!
