3  Seatbelt bag for a friend's birthday in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: December 30, 2013 04:02:46 PM
Since I started making my seatbelt bags, lots of friends have asked for them as birthday or Christmas presents.  Since my friend Heather's birthday is just before Christmas, this is both!

4  Subversive stripe: seat belt purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: December 12, 2013 02:10:59 PM
It's been a while since I made one of these.  I like the subversive orange stripe.  There's one on the back, too, just not in the same place!

5  Another seat belt bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: March 18, 2013 10:26:08 AM
This one I made for a friend's birthday.  She wanted a black bag, but I added one blue piece of webbing, just to make it different.

6  Seat belt Kindle Fire HD case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: February 08, 2013 07:35:35 AM
I got myself a new Kindle Fire HD, but didn't like the case I ordered from Amazon.  So, some seatbelt webbing, camo fabric for lining, about half an hour's work, and...voila!  A new case.

7  My bag of...well, several colors! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: August 03, 2012 02:55:23 PM
I haven't made a bag from seat belt webbing for a while.  I have several colors in my stash, so I decided on a multi-colored bag.

I'm particularly proud of the zipper!

orange, silver, blue and black.

8  Denim Destiny Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: May 08, 2012 01:02:46 PM
I was digging around in my craft stash the other day, when I came upon two pieces of jean fabric, already cut out to sew.  Heaven knows how long ago I did it, but I can recognize the hand of Destiny when it slaps me upside the head!  So, after a few hours of communing with my sewing machine--behold!

Lining fabric, zipper and seatbelt webbing strap, all from my craft stash as well.

9  Bag for the Zombie Apocalypse, Mark II in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: February 19, 2012 10:50:18 AM
A year ago, I made a big bag from a rug.  My kids, because I had so many useful things in it, called it the Zombie Apocalypse bag.  Now, with the bag getting a little worn and the Apocalypse looming ever closer (at least in my kids' minds!), I present the Zombie Apocalypse bag Mark II!

Lining is Valori Wells home decorator cotton from my (now defunct, alas!) local fabric store.

Yup.  It's a big bag, indeed!

10  "Geez, Mom, you could hide a body in there!" AKA big slouchy carpetbag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by spiderlady on: February 07, 2011 05:51:34 PM
I found a rug on the clearance table at Big Lots.  $3.  It said to me, "take me home and make me into a bag!"  So I did.  When my son saw it, that's what he said.  Not quite, but it IS big.

View of the lining.  Home decorating fabric by Valori Wells, from my local amazing fabric store.

Gives you an idea of the size!

The strap is a piece of black seatbelt webbing from a boxful of the stuff my daughter gave me for free!  So this was one cheap, as well as big, bag.
