check  it out!!
I got this one two weeks ago
the photo was taken right after it was done, so it's all red and swelly.
in case you can't see, it's the word  MAKE stitched into my skin, with the needle and thread at the end
it's on my left arm, right beneath the elbow.

17  My first cables in Knitting: Completed Projects by tigercub_wabbit on: November 17, 2006 09:25:33 AM
So, after much frogging, I finished my first  cable project-
cabled armwarmers Grin
I just went for it and thought of a pattern I liked for ones, bought 2 skeins of 100% Merino, and look:

armwarmers!!!!!

close up of the cables:

it is the simplest pattern (bacause I made it myself) so if want it, I'll be glad to share!

18  Re: Fill a Pencilcase swap! in The Swap Gallery by tigercub_wabbit on: October 25, 2006 07:30:33 AM
I got it! I got it!
look:

this is everything, with two heads and the beautiful rainy day outside

the cool pencil sharpener:

the wheel thingies (excuse the brain fart, I can't remember what they're called in English) actually rotate when you sharpen a pencil! (or a finger, I guess, I didn't try)

the pencil case itself:

it's knitted and felted and I love it

and all the pens & pencils, with pirate pencil toppers, a ruler pencil, a supreme court hammer-pencil, a SNAKE PEN and pins and stickers....

And of course- A Pilot Pen. According to Kirsten's husband, the best pen ever made (I concur.)

Oh, Oh. And Altoids. Cinnamon Altoids. Just when I was running out of  Grin

19  Post of many knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by tigercub_wabbit on: October 16, 2006 02:04:05 AM
Yes. so I haven't been posting much new stuff lately, so there (by order of completion):
Armwarmers I made for my trip to Germany (everybody told me it's gonna be really cold. pah. It was never colder than 25C, and all I brought were long-sleeved shirts.):

knit flat and seamed, except for the thumb hole.
100% acrylic something

A baby blanket for friends (I think they're due tomorrow...)- it's gonna be a girl

the yarn is called Peter Pan, it's super duper soft (55% nylon, 45% acrylic)
simple feather & Fan with garter st. borders
started: August 25th
Finished: September 28th
(But I was abroad for 2 weeks and mourning the ending of my trip for another week out of that)

A baby blanket for another friend (she's due around December- January)- Only heaven and the Gyno(sp?) know if it's gonna be a boy or a girl, so I chose a fun- non commital yarn:

Pinwheel baby blanket
really thick acrylic yarn, knit with 8mm. circs.
ended up being 300 sts. around, and edged with crochet (made by me! I didn't know I can crochet!)
finished in- get this- TWO DAYS! ( but it was Yom Kippur, so really, there was nothing else to do)

...Aaaaaand, Knitty's Topi, for a waiter in a cafe that wanted my denim hat, so I promised I'll knit him a hat instead.
IMG]http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/tigercub-wabbit/024.jpg[/IMG]
made, again, with 100% acrylic (he wanted cheap and dark green)
no variations to the pattern.
started: Thursday, October 12th
finished: yesterday, Sunday, October 15th

And a kitty shot:

started: around 2 years ago
ain't she a cutie?

20  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by tigercub_wabbit on: September 26, 2006 05:57:00 AM
So I got home on Friday after work, and found:

YAY! A package! for me!
the yarn was a beautiful bamboo:

and apart from the yarn: 3 tins of cinnamon Altoids ( I *LOVE* Cinnamon Altoids),
a beautiful knitted cupcake

(I'll have the coolest pin cushion in class!!)
a crocheted granny-square

a plastic treasure chest and a plastic sword

inside the chest, some pretty pretty piratey stitch markers

and a cool crystal-chip necklace
a tiny knitting girl tin, a pirate pin and the cutest red pouch:

and a darrrrrrn piratey bracelet

I love it all so much!!!!
