2  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Batik Hemp Stole for wedding officiant on: September 01, 2007 03:32:42 PM
the pics came out a bit dark- so you cant see the om or pentacle symbol too well- but I did this for a friend who is the officiant in a wedding.
I lined it in satin, and the top is made of hemp rayon.

those are doves at the top- they came out dark too.

enjoy!

5  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / do you use Urea? on: April 10, 2007 10:48:48 AM

6  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / batik dandelion dress on: April 10, 2007 10:35:46 AM
i made this completely from scratch- the dress is made from hand dyed rayon.

its had 3 baths- turquoise>light green > orange (which turned it all brown)

the front hem is shorter than the back- im in so much love with this dress- i couldnt bear to part with it.
its rare i keep things for myself- but i couldnt let this one go Smiley

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / can corsets be made for very large sizes (5x?) on: January 19, 2007 08:29:54 AM
I'm going to attempt this today-
using the hemp cord boning method of putting in the channels all the way around.....

if anyones got experience making corsets in a 5x size- id love to hear it from you- what basic pattern to use-any tips...etc.

this is going to be used as an undergarment for a very simple period empire waist dress in a wedding. (she's a bridesmaid)

thanks!
