1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" on: November 18, 2005 12:10:49 PM
fishbulb, or anyone else who's tried it, how did you go with the chevron scarf? i'm knitting it now, and it won't stay remotely flat - the two sides curl in so it ends up looking about half as wide as it should. i've been hoping that if i wash and block it when i'm done it will be ok, but now (that i've nearly finished) i'm getting cold feet...

Hey there! Sorry, I've been a bit delinquent checking in on the forums. But I did finish the scarf, which you probably have by now, too. But I did block it and it looked pretty good after that. Mine was also folding into thirds along the chevron pattern. And since the person I was making the gift for was me  Smiley I have been wearing it and was able to see how it did after wearing it for a while. And mine has started to curl back up where it goes around the neck. I was a little disappointed, but have since gotten over it. When I wear it, it's always going to be squished up anyway. The ends are staying nice and flat, though, so I'm pretty happy with it. I hope yours turned out nicely. I'll try to post a pic one of these days, but I haven't had a lot of time lately to try and figure out that whole can of worms!
Cheers!

Thanks Jezebel. That is what I suspected. But are they all green? Bright, I don't mind so much - and that might change a little with felting too. But I wanted the stripes to be different colors, not 3 different shades of green, you know? Thanks for letting me know, though!

I don't know how many of you out there get the new LOGO channel, but they are now showing Wonderfalls! I don't know if it's a short term thing, since Wonderfalls itself was so tragically shortlived, but there you go!

Hey there, I too have seen this book and definitely want want want! Soon maybe! I have the current IK with the laptop pattern, which I am planning on making. The only thing is this, I cannot for the life of me figure out how in the heck the small bag looks like that in the pictures! Colorwise, that is. I am probably one of the few people that often keeps to the colors in the pattern, since color is half of what attracts me to something! But I have been checking out the yarn colors online and they all appear to be similar greens, when the pic in IK looks to be a darkish green and a lightish blue and lavender-y color.

I know that monitors can be pretty off with color, but that much? Judging by what I'm seeing online, it's hardly worth it to make the stripes! I guess I can just search for yarns in the colors that I think they are!

Hey everyone

Brand new to the site, but I have and love this book so thought I'd join the party. And just blew through the gazillion pages of great stuff people have made - whew! I just finished the felted yoga mat and it is still drying (3 days after felting!!). But I will post a pic as soon as it's dry and I can figure out how. I think it turned out pretty well, but I have yet to put a yoga mat in it and see if it fits!

Also working on the chevron scarf, which is going a bit slowly, but c'est la vie! Next is my sights is the hourglass sweater. But I have to, have to, have to finish the other two sweaters I'm working on first.  Smiley

Cheers!
