I think it would work great--as usual, I would just make sure that the gauge is close to that shown in the pattern, or be prepared to modify. Cotton/wool sounds really nice as a lighter-weight spring cardi. The only complaint I have about mine is that it's WARM. The yarn I used was VERY different from that in the SnB book--much bulkier and fuzzier. I did a biggish gauge swatch, and a lot of math (yay 8th grade algebra!) to figure out how many sts to cast on and how many decreases to do at the armholes and front, but it all worked out in the end. I'd love to see pics of yours when you finish!













I have to say, props to Laura Jean. This is a great pattern--infinitely wearable, easy to modify. I think round two is going to include some of the lozenge lace pattern as seen in the 'shimmer' pattern in the most recent Knitty.
