just had to join the forum to ask...have people tried that threads technique?  because i did the other night and i did not like it.  i'm trying to copy my favorite pants and the slight stretch of the fabric made my tapey pattern all lumpy, no matter how carefully i smoothed it down.  in the end i went back to my old technique of laying each section of the garment out on top of a big sheet of tracing paper, on top of a big piece of cardboard, and then poking pinholes all along the seams.  then i just connect the dots and add seam allowances.
