Vegan with a Vengance = Best vegan cook book out there, seriously.  I have yet to encounter a recipe that has left me disappointed.
22  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: One Hour Baby Booties on: June 03, 2006 03:34:37 AM
I made a pair of these ages ago and posted it on my blog: http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2006/04/10/pitter-patter-of-little-feet/.  I used regular old worsted weight, although I would probably choose something thicker if I were to make them again.  It was amazing though - They really did only take one hour!

Unfortunately, the baby ended up being so big when he was born, he was never able to wear them!  The mother was still appreciative though, and said that they would use the booties as Christmas ornaments this year instead.
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: KNITTING blog questions...help on: June 03, 2006 03:18:33 AM
Uhm, I'm really sick of Myspace in general, but I'm just biased against it because a lot of bad shit has come from its creation.  I use Wordpress, which is okay, but it's certainly not fantastic.  What pissed me off the most is that after only about 3 months of operation, it told me I had used up all my bandwidth for uploading pictures, and the only way to get more was to delete some!  You can't even buy more space, which I was completely willing to do had it been an option!  It also has a lot of issues with formating.... It loves to play around with the spacing of paragraphs, and sometimes skips all over the page as you try to type so you end up with your concluding sentence in the middle of your post.  Argh!

I've never tried the other platforms so I really can't make any accurate comparisons.  I do suggest you upload your photos on a seperate server regardless, to save space and all.  Flickr = amazing, way more space for high res pictures than Photobucket, which I had also tried in the past.

I don't know what else to tell you other than good luck!  Just try things out and have fun with it, who cares if you screw up when you're starting out?  It'll get that akward bit out of the way and you'll have nothing to worry about for future blogging.  Oh, and don't forget:  You can always change platforms if you really hate what you chose.  Smiley
24  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: When did you learn to crochet? on: May 29, 2006 04:28:00 AM
Stuck in the hospital with nothing better to do, my parents finally caved to my whinning and bought me The Happy Hooker... My Nana tried to help explain the basics, but she really only confused me more!  Thankfully, The Happy Hooker is probably the best source for crochet instructions out there, so I finally got the hang of it with relatively little difficulty!

Thank you so much for the pattern, I just loved it!

For details and other nonsense, you can read the post I made at my blog.  Smiley

27  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: ALL YEAR LONG CHRISTMAS CRAFTALONG 2006 on: May 28, 2006 03:26:08 AM
As June approaches, I feel like I have more of a reason to start my holiday crafting, so... I've started knitting beaded wrist bands and other little stuffed animals for my younger cousins.

My main problem is finding out what everyone would want in time before Christmas, because that can actually be harder than crafting the gift itself!
28  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Bellhop Bunny on: May 28, 2006 03:12:25 AM
Wow!!  That looks so perfect, I wish I could crochet that well from a ready-made pattern!
29  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Puppy Pancakes on: May 27, 2006 09:34:32 AM
Aw!  When I read the title, I thought it was going to be a recipe for pancakes for your dogs to eat, but this is much more creative!  What a steady hand you must have, to pour such perfect shapes!
30  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Felt Sushi Charms/Toys on: May 25, 2006 03:20:20 AM
Oh my gosh, GORGEOUS!  Such amazing details, the little beads and bobbles really look so delicate and beatiful.
