1  Newbie question about overspun yarn in Spinning: Discussion and Questions by tiffanysushi on: December 22, 2005 01:23:58 PM
I recently bought a Babe wheel - I've read instructions and how-tos, but when it comes to actually spinning roving into yarn, I'm having a problem.  I've been using yarn as a leader, then attached a pre-drafted piece of roving onto the end of it.  The yarn/leader spin around the bobbin just fine, but the roving itself only twists and twists.  It doesn't make its way around the bobbin.  I've tried changing the brake, but nothing has worked thus far.  Any tips or techniques?

Here's a picture of what the twisted roving looks like when I'm trying to spin.
