I'm going to try to post some of the pictures here, but they might be too large.

24  Re: Quilt-a-long! in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by ZumaGirl74 on: June 04, 2007 10:39:40 AM
I really like that quilt block, simple - but very exciting.  It can be like a story-book quilt where he can make up stories about what's going on in each block.

I've spent the last week working fast & furious on a quilt for my friends soon-to-be-adopted son.  I finished the top last night, but I need to get some batting tonight and finish it up this week.  They're adopting a toddler (not sure exactly how old), so I made it a little bigger than baby-blanket sized... about 40" x 56"

25  Out of this world? in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ZumaGirl74 on: May 27, 2007 09:08:18 PM
Or just lame?

I don't know why but I just fell in love with this fabric, it's just so cool!  But I'm just not sure I'm brave enough to wear it outside.  What do you think?

I used McCalls pattern 4306. The pattern is super easy, so I'll probably make it again in a less funky fabric.

26  Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by ZumaGirl74 on: May 21, 2007 09:55:52 AM
I just posted a blog entry about my machine:

1997 JC Penny Quilt & Craft

She's done a good job, but gets jammed pretty regularly.  I really want a new one, one I can fall in love with.

28  Black & blue flowery bag. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ZumaGirl74 on: July 07, 2006 10:00:35 AM
Here is a bag I made a little while ago. Butterick B3799, view A.  The handles ended up being just an inch shorter than what I would have liked (can carry it like a shoulder bag - but not if I'm wearing a jacket).  The pattern was pretty easy to use, but it recommends using a padding along with the sew-in interfacing.  The padding has been coming out through the fabric & pilling - really annoying.  I think it would have just as much structure without the padding.... maybe just use an extra layer of interfacing.

29  another 9 patch baby quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by ZumaGirl74 on: July 06, 2006 04:40:51 PM
Here is a baby quilt I made this year.  I like the way it turned out.   The colored pieces are left over fabric from my Rail-fence quilt, in fact the stripes on the border were pieces that I'd already cut out for that project.  The cream background has a subtle pattern & purple trim is what I used for the backing.

30  My first quilt 9-patch in Quilting: Completed Projects by ZumaGirl74 on: December 05, 2005 10:25:36 AM
This is the very first quilt I made... I started it when my sister was pregnant but didn't finish it until my neice was like 4.  It's extremely 'rustic' Wink  and I was embarrased to give it away, so I use it as a lap blanket.  It was a start!
