1  Florida / Florida: North / JACKSONVILLE CRAFT FAIR on: October 23, 2006 07:13:16 AM
Would anyone be interested in participating in an indie/alternative craft fair in Riverside, Jacksonville area?? I was a vendor at a recent craft fair in Savannah, GA, and I absolutely fell in love with the idea of organizing one here in Jax....the website to the one in Savannah is www.mutationcraftfair.com and I would want it to be pretty similar to that.

Let me know!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tree Branch Collage! (with tutorial, but it's self explanitory anyway) on: September 21, 2005 05:34:53 AM

I did this on one of my walls in my bedroom. All you have to do is gather branches from your yard (preferably ones with tons of little branches on it), strip them from any leaves (OR BUGS! GROSS!), then find a sturdy spot in it to put a small nail. Then get clothespins in order to hang the pictures. I actually wish I had more polaroids because this would look SUPER CUTE if it was a polaroid collage. Oh well.

Hope you enjoy!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / First time poster, my new bedroom! :) on: September 20, 2005 08:30:32 AM
I've been a lurker on craftster for about a month now, so I figured I might as well get a name on here.

I am studying to be an interior designer and I actually work at a design firm already which is GREAT experience for the future.

Anyway, here's my bedroom before the "make over"....

And here's the new design....

It's not COMPLETELY done...as you can probably see, my curtain is being held up by clothespins. And the wall with the picture collage on tree branches is actually going to have my craft desk underneath that soon, I just have to find the right desk. The reason that there's an ugly pink flower on my vanity mirror (there's actually a long console type thing I made underneath it, but it's cluttered right now and I didn't feel like cleaning it) is because there's a huge chunk of the mirror missing...I got it for discounted from $79 to $10 from my interior design job. I also got that old distressed window (as my headboard) from my job for $20. I had to hang it on wire in order to get in the studs of the wall so I had to line the back with black paper...it looks like a window into hell. haha

If you even care, here's how much I spent on everything...well, not everything, but most of it.

-Suede down comforter: $70 at Westpoint Stevens
-(2)Purple pillowcases and cream dust ruffle: $20 at Westpoint Stevens
-(3)White and brown pillowcases: $4/ea at Ikea
-(2)Prints of flowers, matboard, frames: $20/ea at Michael's
-(2)Nesting tables *set of 3*: $40/ea at Bed, Bath, & Beyond
-(2)Hanging lanterns: $10/ea at Bed, Bath, & Beyond
-(2)Lamps for nightstands (I hate those lamps though): $5/ea at Walmart
-(3)Tree branches for photos: FREE from backyard. hahaha
-Curtain panel for window: free from a garage sale

I hope you like it! Because I definetly do!
